Stop Trying!
Have you ever felt like giving up on that answer, which you have prayed for, for many years? Ever felt like giving up on the things of God and even God Himself, because it seems they do not work for you? Do you find yourself thinking that you not as special as those who receive ‘easily’ from God, because it has taken you long to receive? Friend, all those are feelings that are not in line with God’s word. This is where the battle is; your faith has been attacked. In such times what is needed is to engage in a good fight of faith and once done God’s way you always come back with a testimony. Don’t just try to believe act on God’s word and stick out with it till you win.
Jesus told one of his closest disciples; “And the Lord said, ‘Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.’“ Luke 22:31-32. When Jesus knew of this impending attack on Simon, He prayed for Simon’s faith not to fail because as long as his faith never failed, victory was assured. As a child of God you have victory in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:57), however, it takes faith to manifest it and enjoy it as a present hour reality in your life. All the negative feelings in the times of adversity and challenges are trying to overwhelm you so that your faith will fail. The natural man is a man of senses; he goes by what he sees, feels, hears and thinks. But the spiritual man enjoys a supernatural life by a higher sense; it is called the faith sense. It is the sense and ability to rely on God’s word as immutable and absolute truth for victory in all circumstances and act on it, regardless of his sensory perceptions.
You don’t have to give up on God or on your prayer; charge up your faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17); so, get into the word; remind yourself what the word says about your circumstances. Faith speaks; “And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak” 2 Corinthians 4:13. When feeling low on encouragement and high on frustration, get into the word and begin to speak to yourself and your circumstances. Speak like this; ‘I refuse to fear, I refuse to worry the Lord is with me. God can never leave nor forsake me. The righteous cannot be forsaken’.
God loves all His children the same and He has good plans for all of them, the difference is in how to appropriate this love and access His plans. The secret is in the exercise of your faith, the ability to refuse the feelings of failure, rejection and fear to overwhelm you. The Holy Spirit is in you to help in such times, but He needs your permission. When you read and speak the word you give the Spirit the material to use to manifest your miracle. Maybe you have cried for long, felt like giving up on your answer and wanted to try something else, don’t give up, your faith will not fail. Stop trying to pray, stop trying to love, stop trying to win and by faith pray, love and win. Stand strong, trust in God wholeheartedly and expect to see His goodness in your life. I pray for you today, that your faith will not fail. Receive that miracle in Jesus’ name.
