Stop Begging!
For a good portion of my life and especially since I decided to accept Christ, I found that my life seemed to have spiraled, taken a nose dive.
I battled with depression, low self esteem, gross poverty, humiliation, rejection, slander.
My wilderness experience was tremendous and overwhelming and yes, somewhat unbearable.
Asking for help from others was and still is a big deal for me, as I’m so not use to it and made me even more depressed. I found out the hard way that it is in the darkest times of your life even your shadow leaves.
No one wants to befriend a poor man, even his wisdom is shunned.
Little did I know God was processing and preparing me for greater. Greater impact!
One day I had called a “friend” of mine requesting some financial assistance as I had literally no food in the house.
I didn’t know how my kids were going to school and the bills had piled. I felt like a mockery.
I was so embarrassed and filled with anguish because the “friend” declined and denied my request, lol…..
And as I walked back to my room, I heard the Holy Spirit sternly speak to me
I heard in my Spirit “STOP BEGGING! I did not create you for this. I created you to rule over circumstances.”
Dominion is a topic that many of us talk about but few of us really possess.
Dominion in its simplest form is power, authority or control over something or someone.
It is the ability to request or command and expect a fulfillment of that appeal. To have dominion is to rule, to be in charge.
For a saint of God understanding dominion is crucial to his walk with God.
A lack of understanding in this area could cost him or her spiritually and naturally so.
“Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth,”” Genesis 1:26.
“And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth,”” Genesis 1:28.
“Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you,” Luke 10:19.
“You have given him dominion over the works of your hands; you have put all things under his feet,” Psalm 8:6.
It’s not only money we beg for, but we beg for attention, for love, for acceptance and we know all the other things we beg for…
Dominion is understanding that you can do what God said you can do, have what God said you can have and be what God said you can be regardless to what things looks like, seems like, sounds or appear like.
Spiritual dominion begins in you. You will never be able to exercise power or authority over anything until you have first conquered self.
Flesh is our greatest enemy.
