Stand on the Word of God!
There is one constant in this world when it comes to spiritual things. The closer you get to God, the more you follow His leading… especially in ministry… the more vulnerable you as a Christian become to spiritual attack. I’m not saying that to frighten or steer anyone away from getting closer to God… it is simply the truth.
This has certainly happened in my life in the last few years… and is happening even as I write this now. None of this is surprising to me, yet every time it happens I feel weary. The more obedient I am to God’s will and way on my life… the harder life becomes for me. Yet it’s alright. God is in control of all things and I put my life… and my husband, my kids… into His hands.
So what do we do?
Pray. Stand on the word of God. Lean into our relationship with Him. In times like these it’s so easy to want to throw your hands in the air and give up. Saying, “Forget this, it’s too hard!” (I have wanted to walk away from this calling many many times.) MANY! Ultimately this ends up making matters worse, rather than better. This is a truth I’ve learned over years of bitter experience.
So if your like me and your walking forward in faith and are suddenly finding yourself in the middle of a “firestorm”… emotionally, spiritually, physically… hold on. Keep your eyes focused on the Lord. Give yourself, family, situation… whatever it may be… give it all to God. Remember… even a tiny bit of faith can move mountains.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path” Proverbs 3:5-6.
