Spiritual Parents, Coverings and Mentors
Some of the people are truly confused about Coverings Spiritual Parents and Mentors.
Spiritual Parents:
This is usually the person whom brought you to salvation, and was with you since the beginning of your walk with Christ.
They are the ones who are the first to recognize your spiritual identity and your flaws and strengths.
These are the ones who help you as you begin your spiritual journey.
They are the ones who make the first initial impartation of wisdom order knowledge and understanding in your life.
There is usually a lifetime relationship with your spiritual parents. Even though the connection maybe lifetime, it doesn’t mean that you will stay in their ministry working or to complete your growth.
Most persons maintain a certain level of accountability to their Spiritual Parent always as they move out and grow. Like a natural parent they maintain a watchful on you from a distance but always remain available should you need that fatherly or motherly shoulder.
Coverings:
This person usually shows up when you are or have established your calling or ministry. They cover you spiritually with prayers help when necessary when you need advice also provide reasonable financial intervention when necessary.
God sometimes finds it necessary to have a person to change coverings if the elevation of their calling or ministry is beyond the boundaries of authority and spiritual understanding of where He has shifted transition or increase a person.
Spiritual Coverings requires a person to be accountable and committed, because of the responsibility that they have in seeing that you grow properly spiritually.
These are the ones seen as the disciplinarian counselor intercessor for your life. Their adjective is to see that your spiritual growth is brought forth to accommodate your calling.
Most Coverings have to be careful that they don’t get so attached to the people, that they can’t let go when God gets ready to send those in their care forth or into the spiritual hands of another.
Mentors:
These are the added spiritual aides to a person spiritual development.
You can have various mentors throughout your spiritual lifetime because God sends them at different times in your spiritual growth.
These are persons who required commitment, but not full accountability as most leaders advise those in ministry to obtain a mentor to help them in the areas that the leader is limited or not spiritually able to nurture them in.
A mentor is a person who helps with the development of a person by enhancing what is in them and helping them to walk in the gift and calling upon a person life. They usually work with a person or leader, because they are an aide to the person development in their identity.
These are seasonal persons and once their season is up they move on.
Mentors are teachers they help bring out in a person what is there but they haven’t recognized yet. Mentors are midwives because they help birth what a person is carrying.
Now this brings me to this point because most people try to make a mentor a covering when that is not always the case.
Mentors are not brought into your life to try and pull you from your covering, but to help your covering to bring out the best in you.
Now that’s not to say that a person can’t be a Covering plus a mentor because they can but I’m finding that most people want mentors because they don’t want to be accountable or have a commitment to a covering on a daily basic.
This morning God spoke to me again and said, “Don’t compromise your assignments ,complete obedience is needed.”
People, learn who you suppose to be with and then stay there until God moves you!
