Spiritual Leadership: LORD Jesus, Give Us Shepherds After Your Heart!
“Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all, but is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.” Galatians 4:1-2.
The principle of walking in and obtaining the fullness of one’s spiritual inheritance for the fulfillment of righteous destinies is found in these scripture verses.
The heir is one with a calling from The LORD JESUS CHRIST, a significant inheritance to possess, and a great destiny to fulfill.
It may be the call into the apostolic office, the prophetic office, an assignment in the political or market sphere or a region, nation or nations.
Whatever the calling is, there is an inheritance, an anointing set apart and placed in the hands of “governors” and “tutors”, prepared to walk the heir along the pathway of discovering, growing up in stature and in anointing for the fulfillment of that destiny.
These “governors and tutors” as The Scriptures reveals, are the spiritual leadership divinely ordained by The LORD JESUS CHRIST to walk you different seasons in the fulfillment of your destiny.
The Apostle Paul spoke about his function to those under his stewardship in this manner:
“And I brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ. I have fed you with milk, and not with meat, for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able,” 1 Corinthians 3:1-2.
What a significant statement.
Apostle Paul here described his function and the execution of his function as their “governor, tutor and steward” of the spiritual inheritances needed for growing into maturity and the fulfillment of their destinies.
His assignment was to feed them.
The LORD JESUS CHRIST in conversations with Apostle Peter in John 21,16-17, gave him the same mandate — to feed his sheep.
Spiritual Leadership ordained by The LORD JESUS CHRIST are set as governors, tutors and guardians of the inheritances of peoples and nations — they literally are given custody of the spiritual graces you need to be built up into all your destiny requires — and they have a duty to feed you consistently with this Grace —and see you built up into the statue of Christ.
However, the principle by which you obtained what The LORD JESUS CHRIST has placed in them is through Honor.
“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God, the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God, and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? Do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: for he is a minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid, for he beareth not the sword in vain, for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. For this cause, pay ye tribute also, for they are Gods ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom custom is due, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor. Owe no man any thing, but to love one another, for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law”. Romans 13:1-8.
What a weighty word!
The protocol for receiving all that is yours placed under the stewardship of representative ministers of The LORD JESUS CHRIST is Honor.
The Scripture goes on to reveal the manifold ways Honor is expressed:
“Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due, custom to whom custom is due, fear to whom fear, honor to whom honor,” Romans 13:7-8.
How amazing are the ordinances of The Kingdom Of The LORD JESUS CHRIST given to guide us into the fulfillment of our destiny.
In the absence of honor, rebellion creeps in, births dishonor, severs the bond of tutorship, and short circuits the transfer of spiritual graces from the custodians to the heir.
This we see in the case of Moses the Prophet of God and those that gathered with Korah against the leadership of Moses and Aaron in Numbers 16.
The Scriptures reveal how the rebellious were consumed and cut off, and the promise of being led to the promise was aborted.
Now one may ask, how about governors and tutors who become derelict, ineffective and run contrary in their duties of stewardship and tutorship?
For this I show you the principles and ordinances of The Kingdom by which these matters are determined.
The Scriptures reveals,
“When my father and my mother forsake me, then The LORD will take me up”. Psalm 27:10.
“And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.” Jeremiah 3:15.
You see!
Never in all The Scriptures did The LORD JESUS CHRIST put the responsibility of choosing spiritual leadership on the heir, that responsibility remains with The LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Neither did THE LORD JESUS CHRIST put the authority to slander or malign ministers considered ineffective in the hands of the heir.
There is a righteous requirement revealed as shown in these Scriptures.
It says in Psalm 27, when your father and mother, spiritual equivalents of leaders, pastors, tutors forsake you, either by being derelict in their duties in anyway or outright neglect or become vengeful as Saul was to David, their actions will be weighed by The LORD in the fullness of time, and The LORD JESUS CHRIST who reserves the right to take you back from their custody or parenting, will take you from them, and fulfill the word revealed in Jeremiah 3:15,
”And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding”.
To the rebellious heir, The LORD placed the authority of discipline in the hands of the representative ministers, but to the derelict and ineffective minister, the authority of discipline is in The Hands of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST.
There is a great blessing in the ordinances of The Kingdom of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST with regards to spiritual leadership.
The walk of growth and attainment of maturity, necessary to receive the spiritual graces for fulfillment of one’s destiny is encapsulated in mysteries and ordinances that govern spiritual leadership.
We are in such a time when rebellion to the righteous ordinances of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is sweeping through different spheres of society.
The need for righteous spiritual leadership to arise and lead peoples and nations into their righteous destinies cannot be overemphasized.
This is a time to cry out to THE LORD JESUS CHRIST to give us Leaders after HIS Heart that will feed us with wisdom and understanding, so we can walk in our inheritances and fulfill our destinies — as well as steward the ordinances of spiritual leadership in our hearts — so we can obtain the fullness of the inheritances appointed to us by The LORD JESUS CHRIST
