Spiritual Guidance for the Days Ahead
“Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life” 1 Timothy 6:19
There is much happening in the world today. Signs of the end times are becoming more apparent each day.
Men scoff at the promise of Christ’s return, yet we are witnessing the signs of His coming everywhere.
The end time is here, and few will be able to stand. Let us put on the whole Armor of God and ask The Holy Spirit of God to prepare our hearts for what is coming.
The days are perilous, just as Paul told Timothy they would be in the last days. We are seeing things escalating in the world at a rate never seen before.
Everything that Jesus talked about for the last days is coming to pass — wars, rumors of wars, famines, pestilences, earthquakes, signs in the sun and the moon and the stars, and an ever increasing rise of global persecution — soon to be on the doorstep of America.
The warning has been going out for years to prepare for what is coming.
Even Bible Prophecy Ministries that never thought it necessary to warn the Christians to prepare, are starting to realize that hard times and persecution are coming to this nation.
Brothers and sisters in Christ are being beheaded and the world is now openly seeing it. Soon it will be on the shores of America.
I am astonished that it has not already. It is only the Mercy of God that has restrained this from happening so far.
The days are numbered. God will not be mocked. The Nation that turns from God will be turned into Hell and judgment begins at The House of God.
I heard a lady say in Church that she needed to start thinking about what it would be like to give her life for Christ — to be beheaded for the Name of Jesus Christ.
Christians are starting to take note that it can come here. Many are still sleeping, but there are some that are beginning to realize that we may have to die for our faith in America.
Does the thought of this trouble me? Of course it does, but we cannot go on thinking that, as Christians have suffered throughout the ages, and are suffering even today, that it will not happen to us.
It’s time the Church in America begin to prepare for Great tribulation!
We will soon begin another year, and what will it hold for America and the world? What will things be like this time next year? Only time will tell.
Things are moving at a very rapid pace and we are beginning to see a great shaking that is soon to take place! Great devastation is coming to the earth, and great change is coming to this Nation.
There will be many weeping and wailing in the days ahead, as they see what is happening in America. It is a very sobering thing, but it is the reality of the matter.
People for a long time have been talking about a great revival breaking out, but what we have coming is a great time of trouble and sorrow. There will be joy in the midst of the pain, but days of lamentation are ahead.
It is now that we need to prepare for what is coming. It is now that we need to prepare our hearts for perilous times and for seeing the things that are coming upon the face of the earth.
We must prepare ourselves to see sorrow on a grand scale. Only through Christ, can we, and will we, be able to stand!
I want to supply some very important Scriptures and spiritual guidance for the days ahead.
These will give you great strength and encouragement as you face the things that are soon to happen. Some are sobering, but they are in our Bible.
If you clutch to these Scriptures, and pray and fast, God will give you great strength in Him. Know these truths, hide them in your heart, and nobody will be able to take them from you.
● Know, Trust, and Believe Romans 8: 28
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” Romans 8: 28
Stand upon this promise from The Word of God. God promises that everything that happens in your life is working for your good, if you love Him and are called according to His Purpose.
It is just as it says it is. We can know, trust, and believe that God is going to work out everything for our good.
This means even the things which seem to not be good for us now, God is working out for our ultimate good.
He is orchestrating things in our lives and we can trust Him to take care of everything. Who knows the mind of The LORD?
He’s able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ask or even think! There is nothing too big for our God!
He holds this whole world in His Hands. Just like the song says! “He’s got you and me, brother, in His hands,” and he’s taking care of all things for us!
No matter what happens to you. No matter what you go through, you can know that God is working it all out for your good!
● Know, Trust, and Believe Philippians 4:13
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Philippians 4:13
What a wonderful promise this is from The Word of God! How truly wonderful it is!
Just like the Scripture says, we can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us!
He gives us the strength! How wonderful it is to know that Christ, Himself, is strengthening us! You can do anything, because Jesus Christ is with you!
You can go through anything, get through anything, withstand anything, endure anything, because Jesus Christ is your LORD!
The Scripture here tells us that there is nothing that we cannot go through, as long as we have Christ. This Scripture has no limitations!
There is nothing that you cannot do through Christ! He will help you through it. He will get you through it.
He will sustain you in the midst of it. Somehow, someway, when you least expect it, He will get you through it.
Our God is not limited by anything, and He will not be limited in helping His children. Whatever it is you are facing — financial, marital, job, oppression, depression, emotional troubles, worries, disappointments, impossibilities, embarrassments, pressure, nervousness, anxiety, panic, fear, dizziness, cloudiness, fogginess, pain, imprisonment, hard times, suffering, persecution, tribulation — doesn’t matter.
You can do all things through Christ Who strengthens you! He will get you through it somehow — leading us to our next Scripture!
● Know, Trust, and Believe 1 Corinthians 10:13
“There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
This is similar to Philippians 4:13 in that there is nothing that God cannot get us through!
Somehow, someway, God will not allow us to be tempted more than we can bear. He will somehow provide a way for us to escape so that we can bear the temptation coming against us.
As we can do all things through Christ, we can endure anything that comes our way. It is not our job to figure out how God will deliver, but only to trust in Him that He will, and that He promises to do so.
We see countless places in Scripture where God promises to deliver and be with us in all things. No matter what the situation, God will make a way that it not overcome us.
He will make a way where there seems to be no way!
We are told in The LORD’s Prayer, “And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen” (Matthew 6:13).
And we should pray this prayer every day!
● Know, Trust, and Believe Proverbs 3: 5-6
“Trust in The LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” Proverbs 3: 5-6
Know that you must trust in The LORD at all times and believe and trust that He is directing your paths.
Do not lean on your own understanding, and do not always try to figure everything out. We are not called to understand God, but to trust in Him.
Many people have many questions, but we are called to trust in The LORD with all of our heart! In everything you do, acknowledge Him.
Put Him first in everything you do — every decision you make, every contemplation you contemplate, seek and trust Him for the answer.
It is important to remember to not lean unto our own understanding, because our finite understanding is limited and God’s is omniscient and eternal.
His ways are higher than our ways! It is our job to trust in Him. He did not say that it will always make sense, but He did say that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
Many times things will not make sense and we simply do not understand. Do not lose your faith. Do not lose your victory. Trust only in God!
Take heed to what Jesus said in Matthew 7:13-14,
“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.”
Take heed that not everyone that says “Lord, Lord,” will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. There are many preachers preaching many different things, but not all of them are truly of God.
The road into The Kingdom of Heaven is straight and narrow. Those on the broad way are on the way to destruction and most will go that way.
Few will find eternal life! Scripture tells us to make our callings and elections sure. We must be in prayer every day and forsake not the assembling of ourselves together as we see the day approaching.
Remember this — Few will find eternal life!
It’s the broad way that leads to destruction. The way most are going leads to eternal death! The way that leads to eternal life is by entering in the straight and narrow way — the way least popular, the way despised and rejected by the world — The Way, The Truth, and The Life — through Jesus Christ — Christ and Him crucified!
Scripture tells us that Jesus made Himself of no reputation and so must we, as we follow Him.
● Know, Trust, and Believe Matthew 7:15
Know and understand, that immediately after Jesus tells us what He does in Matthew 7:13-14, that He then tells us,
“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” Matthew 7:15
Immediately after, Jesus said that few would find eternal life, He warned to beware of false prophets. We must know and take heed that the two are linked.
There will be many that will be deceived in the last days by evil men and seducers waxing worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.
Jesus said that, if it were possible, the very elect would be deceived. Praise God that, it is not possible for His true children — His true elect — to be deceived.
But, many others will fall away.
Scores of others will turn from the Truth. False doctrine is running rampant and we must be determined to believe in, trust, and live out the Word of God, no matter who stands with us, or who does not.
Many will turn from their faith in the days ahead as the great falling away referred to in 2 Thessalonians comes to a climax.
Even if family around you gives up their faith, you still must keep and hold onto yours! Know what it means to be a True Christian!
Hold onto it for dear LIFE! Like Paul said, “….. lay hold on eternal life……”! (1 Timothy 6: 12)
Know that Daniel and Revelation clearly tell us that the beast will make war with the saints,
“I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them.” Daniel 7:21
“And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them…..” Revelation 13:7
We must know this is true and accept The Word of God for what it says. Many try to say that this does not include them, but for anyone that calls on the Name of Jesus, the beast will make war with.
We are to trust in Our Lord in everything, and know that He will see us through as He has promised to.
Remember that God tells us that He will not allow us to be tempted above that which we are able, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape that we are able to bear it.
This is all we need, to just trust in The LORD in everything. He will bring us through, as He refines and purifies us through the fiery trial of our faith, which is more precious than gold.
And though we be tried with fire, we might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ.
Know what Jesus said in Matthew 10:28,
“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
We are to fear only God. The fear of The LORD is the beginning of wisdom.
We are not to fear what man can do unto us. We are to trust only in Our Lord Jesus Christ. If we are in Christ, and He is in us, then nothing can truly harm us.
The worst that man can do to us is kill our body, but they cannot harm our soul. We are in the hands of Our Lord Jesus Christ, “And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God:” (Job 19: 26).
Our God holds the keys to our eternal destiny, and as long as we are in His hands, we are safe forevermore. There is not a hair of our head that shall perish.
● Know and remember Philippians 1:21
“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” Philippians 1:21
This life is temporal. It will come to and end someday, and then we will stand before Jesus Christ. While we as Christians are on this earth, we live and enjoy the blessings of serving Our Lord Jesus Christ.
He gives us life and that more abundantly. We occupy till he comes — all the while looking, watching, and waiting for His appearing in the clouds of glory. Our life, while we are on this earth is Christ, but when we die, it is truly gain.
True Life will just then, be truly beginning. Scripture says,
“Precious in the sight of The LORD is the death of his saints.” Psalm 116:15
When this life ends, True Life in eternal life through Jesus Christ is just beginning for the Child of God.
● Always remember Matthew 6: 34
“Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.” Matthew 6: 34
We have no need to worry about anything, for our lives are in the hands of The LORD. There is no reason to be concerned about what is going to happen tomorrow -=- no reason to dwell upon that which may trouble you.
God will take care of it. Somehow, some way, He will lead, guide, and direct your life, and will work out all things for your good, if you love Him and are called according to His purpose.
Christ will order your steps and He delights in your way. He will lead you. The things that trouble you, He already knows about and has made a way for you to escape, if you are putting your trust in Him.
Don’t worry about tomorrow, because this day has enough of its own issues.
God is able to take care of you through it all.
When you begin to become worried over something, immediately throw it off, knowing that you have a Heavenly Father that knows the very numbers of the hairs on your head and is able to deliver you and give you victory.
● Know Philippians 3:1
“Finally, my brethren, rejoice in The LORD…….” Philippians 3:1
● Know Ephesians 6:10
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in The LORD, and in the power of his might.” Ephesians 6:10
And finally,
● Know what Jesus said in Matthew 28: 20
“….. lo, I AN with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” Matthew 28: 20
Jesus is with us through it all. In everything, He is with us.
He promises to never leave us nor forsake us. We can take comfort in the fact, that no matter what we go through, He is right there, going through it with us.
He is Our Lord and Our Savior and Our Redeemer. He is our All in All and sends us the Comforter, which is The Holy Ghost. In Him, we live, move, and have our being.
He is always there, in the midst of any trouble, and will always be there with us — even unto the end of the world!
