So Many Voices Shout “Listen to Me!”
There are many in this world who profess to speak the truth.
Yet most of them serve only themselves. They speak with forked silver tongues and multitudes are led astray by them; some even unto death.
Man seeks a leader, a deliverer who will change the world. They crave reasons to hope.
They want to believe in something but because they are not sure of what, they are susceptible to fall for anything.
One forked tongue devil professing the words they want to hear can bring wreak deception and destruction on a mass scale.
Yet we are given a voice to follow; one example to lead us in the way of truth unto freedom.
He is the Shepherd. The sheep know and respond to His voice. He has never led one astray nor has lost a single one of those in His care.
In this world with so many voices screaming, “Listen to me!” He is the still small voice that shows the true way.
Do His sheep ever go astray?
Most of us know from first hand experience that they do.
Does He abandon them?
Does He leave them alone in the dark where ravenous wolves prowl?
Thankfully, He does not.
“Thank you, Jesus, that you have never forsaken or abandoned me.
Though I have gone astray, You have pursued me, You have found me and You have led me back to the safety of Your fold.
You remind me that no matter how many times I wander You will never stop pursuing me.
I am Yours; one of a multitude whose souls was ransomed on the cross.
Teach me to listen to Your still small voice even when turmoil seems to press in from every side.
Teach me to obey Your words even when every thought from my natural mind screams, ‘Impossible!’
Teach me to believe no matter what the apparent odds.
Seal my mind with Your precious blood.
Flow in and through me filling every part of me so that I will be a reflection of Your love.
AMEN”
