Smash-mouth Determined Prayer
“For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them,” Mark 11:23-24, NKJV.
“My child, you have a term in the South called “smash-mouth** football.” It is used to describe a football team’s offensive squad that plays aggressively and will not back down even when they are pressed against their own goal line.
I AM looking for a people who will be as zealous in their spiritual warfare as those football players.
Spiritual warfare is NOT a game, but you can learn a principle by observing the natural. The team who does not believe they can win, will never win.
The evil one has worked long and hard to instill in the Western culture a picture of a powerless Church that is afraid of the darkness. There is no power in watered down religion that is based on making people feel good as their primary goal.
I love My people, but I will not wink at their sin because sin drives them far away from Me and into the enemy’s hands. I send conviction into the hearts of My people to draw them back to Me: back to the Truth.
If My people know the Truth they will have a sure foundation. If their foundation is the Rock, then their spiritual warfare is done from a position of victory not “I hope so.”
The winning team believes they’ve already won before the game starts because they will settle for nothing less.
Take stock and consider how you pray. You are more than a conqueror, if I AM truly LORD of your life. Prepare before you pray by engaging your spirit-man first so you will not be in the flesh.
Spiritual warfare starts in the spirit, led by My Spirit, and uses your body to speak words aligned with My will, purposes, and plans.
You must have a “smash-mouthed” determination not to give up. Remember Daniel continued to pray for 21 days until he received the answer which had been delayed by the agents of darkness.
The hour is late. You must commit one way or another. I have already had it written in the Book: I prevail and vanquish all of My enemies.
Read it. Meditate on it. Believe it. Choose to be a winner and stay the course though the darkness rages. I AM LORD!
Be encouraged. Keep your eyes on Me and you will see wonders and signs beyond your wildest dreams. All is well. Shalom.”
**Slang designating a style of football characterized by rough, aggressive play and, typically, strong offensive rushing.
“But the one who rules in heaven laughs. The LORD scoffs at them. Then in anger he rebukes them, terrifying them with his fierce fury,” Psalms 2:4-5, NLT
