Simply Be Obedient — Where He leads I will Follow — Part 2
Obedience is surely better than sacrifice.
A lot of the scriptures I wish to use are on Part 1 and the HKP Post just if you should feel to read again: “Simply Be Obedient — Where He leads I will Follow“
What about weighing out Obedience versus Rebellion?
The gratification of self at the beginning may seem to feel like a good thing. Still there are always consequences of our actions!
Sometimes just as we don’t always reap good things right away, same with evil.
Just know we all shall reap, Christians and sinners alike!
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6:9.
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23.
It is good fruit verses bad fruit, I call it. That doesn’t mean we can’t miss the mark, at times if we are Christians. All of us can and have!
“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14.
“For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23.
Still too, it is about rising back up again and ‘pressing on’ in the things of our God, as I heard some dear friends preach yesterday!
We must remember:
“The LORD is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” Peter 3:9.
Now what are the works of the flesh and what are the fruits of the spirit?
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.” Galatians 5:19-21.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” Galatians 5:22-23.
There is a payday for us all. Some will have our works burnt up. Some will suffer loss but yet some will be saved as by fire.
“If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.” 1 Corinthians 3:15.
What is our choice? We need to grow up in Him and put off babyhood.
Sometimes it’s like we all at times need a milk bottle again. Believe you me, I fail and come short a lot of times. Anything I write, preaches to me first! Oh boy, as so many of us know on this site.
“For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.” Hebrews 5:12-14.
I will close with these Scriptures from 2 Corinthians. Let us walk on together, closing the gap of the enemy, so he can’t get in!
Let’s have our Armor on everyone with no chinks!
I know I pulled some scriptures out individually here, as The LORD laid this message on my heart.
Remember to read before and behind a verse to get more meaning, though.
“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds,” 2 Corinthians 10:4.
Let’s be encouraged this day, is my prayer.
God bless you all.
~ Joyce D. McGuire
My name is Joyce D. McGuire, called to work in and for the Kingdom of God! To lead we must try to follow Jesus Christ closely. That is my heart. I am a Chaplain in the prisons; prophetic intercessor by His grace, author, and a Mother in the Kingdom of God. To many I am simply Mama Joyce. Some favorite verses of mine are Matthew 11:28-30.
There is much here but I would like to focus on “Let’s have our Armor on everyone with no chinks!” Over the last few months I have been praying at the start of each day to have on the Ephesians 6 armor. I think if I had done this daily even before then, I would have spared myself some spiritual attacks. As for the chinks, I think by by keeping short accounts with the Lord one can close them instead of allowing them to widen. There is a further need to ask the Lord to show us areas in which we have been deceived, especially as deception is rife in these last days.
Yes Mark good points, my bro. So true as we need to ask the Lord to show us any areas where we have been deceived. The spirit of truth will reveal to us when we are honest and sincerely seeking Him. He sure don’t want us deceived. Thank you.
It is good when we can say bottom line..I keep pressing on toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:14. Amen. Love and prayers, Sandi
