Silence is Golden
During these times of great change and so much unexpected drama and trauma in our world today, I have found myself greeting The LORD upon arising with this age old prayer, “LORD, teach me to number my days and apply my heart to wisdom.”
It seems my prayer list grows longer and longer with each passing day.
Yesterday, The LORD spoke softly and clearly to me these profound Words, “You were born to climb — so just climb up in My Lap this morning.
Just be still and know that I AM God.
Silence your heart and know that I AM breathing into you the very breath of life with an endurance you never dreamed of, to complete your journey and finish well.
You will continue to run this race and finish well, as you embrace my heavenly perspective forsaking the cloudy dark forecast coming from man.
This is what it means to enter into My Rest.
Tell the world to shut up, the devil to get lost, and take bury the thundering distractions of every voice that has come to distract you from the one who loves you always.”
As He continued, He had my undivided attention as I drew closer.
He said, “Beloved, I see many of My Chosen Flock with a fragmented and divided heart, that has been fractured by this season of trials and tests.
They feel they would rather be anywhere else than where they are, because all their plans have been changed and they have lost their direction on their desired journey.
But I AM drawing My People into a time of silence in My Presence, for My Strength is made perfect in weakness and My Compassion fails not.
You are in a special set aside time to wrap your heart around the wisdom of when to speak — and when to remain silent.
I AM bringing guidance, new direction and balance during this time of chaos by drawing you into a time of silence and reflection.
I AM allowing you to think back on the times when you spoke too soon, or released every thought unnecessarily.
As you enjoy this time of silence, just relax and allow true Wisdom to flow freely and strengthen your heart with peace for the journey ahead,” says The One Who is Peace.
“Then at the fullness of time, I shall say, ” You may go forth in peace — but watch your words, listen well and reflect on My Words to you, knowing your face is always before Me.””
If you have known me very long, you will recall that The LORD has used silence in my life many times to teach me, guide me and demonstrate that as I waited in silence, I was developing The Fear of The LORD.
I can tell you there are no words to describe the first experience of His appearing after a long time of waiting.
I was almost thrown across the room when He showed up and only said, “I AM here!”
I have moved from that moment and learning experience, to now find indescribable Peace that remains every time, and today was a golden moment that is etched in my heart for eternity.
Quietness and stillness, coupled with just silence and no words, leave a message of contentment that is found no other way.
As I paused today to allow these peaceful moments to settle into my spirit, soul and body, I was reminded of a quote I once had on my wall by Ernest Hemingway.
“It takes two years to learn to speak and sixty to learn to keep quiet.”
Ernest Hemingway
And I had typed this on a piece of paper that was in my Bible!
“The art of speaking comes quickly, a skill we eagerly develop in the first years of life. Yet the wisdom to hold our tongue often takes a lifetime to master. It takes years of experience to understand that silence can speak volumes — that restraint, in the right moments, carries more strength than words.
Over time, we learn that not every thought must be voiced, that listening can be more powerful than speaking, and that quiet can foster understanding and peace. True wisdom lies in knowing when to speak up and when to remain silent, a balance that only time and reflection can teach us.“
The LORD spoke again as I sat in complete silence pondering wisdom versus foolishness.
“Foolishness is bound up in the heart as a child; but the rod of discipline will remove it far from him.” Proverbs 22:15 NASB.
Silence in the presence of The LORD has truly changed my heart over and over and given me a living definition and experience of Holiness, Honor, as well as a powerful understanding of the Fear of The LORD.
Being overwhelmed with the wrapped up completely feeling of HIS love is the amazing result that Silence always produces in me.
Oh what a Savior, Oh what a friend, Oh what a lover, Oh what a Counselor. He is my everything!
After a time of much silence in His presence, The LORD spoke, “Seek my heart for America and the Nations and pray without ceasing for the battle for TRUTH is raging all across the land.
Never forget, even though fear and unbelief are working together as one and have a stronghold on my people, My Mercy and Truth are working together to reveal and restore.
My Mercy is being demonstrated world-wide along with my never-ending goodness. My Mercy,” says The LORD, “is Promising and My Truth is performing.
The Truth comes to divide soul and spirit, it ‘crosses’ the will, so to speak, but the end result comes when My People arrive at the place of CHOICE.
The end result is The Fear of The LORD.
Never refuse or take lightly My Mercy that is new every morning for it is a demonstration of my goodness to lead you into all Truth.”
“Behold, You desire truth in the innermost being, and in secret You will make wisdom known to Me.” Psalm 51:6 NASB.
I love the way The Passion Translation says this:
“If you keep talking, it won’t be long before you’re saying something really wrong. Prove you’re wise from the very start — just bite your tongue and be strong!” Proverbs 10:19 TPT
“When there are many words, wrongdoing is unavoidable, but one who restrains his lips is wise.” Proverbs 10:19 NASB.
As I pondered the words of The LORD to me, I keep thinking of the phrase ‘Silence is Golden’ so, I searched it out and this is what I read:
“Speech is silver, silence is golden” has been described as “perhaps the best known of the proverbs concerned with silence”.
Wikipedia says this:
“Speech is silver, silence is golden” is a proverb extolling the value of silence over speech. Its modern form most likely originated in Arabic culture, where it was used as early as the 9th century.
“Daughter, once again, look up your Redemption draws nigh.
It is the Acceptable Year of The LORD — for all the world shall witness the time of aligning to carry out assignments.
There is no time for grieving over disappointments, emotional debris or broken promises.
It is My Time to gather the loyal Remnant.
Keep your eyes on the prize.
Pain is being replaced with gain, as my remnant gets in place to Rule and Reign.
The Supernatural is taking over the natural.
Destiny is calling My People to their appointed time and destination.
Faith, Focus and Finish shall move you forward.
Step out in Faith with a fixed Focus and you shall Finish well on time!” says the Author and Finisher of your Faith.
Your redemption provides all you need to be resilient and recover all.
I read this quote from Sun Tzu that I think of very often and it is great ‘food for thought’.
“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
Sun Tzu
