On Prayer watches: The Fourth Watch — between 3 am – 6 am.

I heard from so many precious Prayer Warriors asking about Prayer Watches.

I have an entire teaching on the subject, but for the sake of brevity I am going to share some information on the significance of The Fourth (4^th) Watch.

Times when we pray can be strategic and very powerful, especially when we don’t become fanatical or religious about what we do.

But patterns are biblical and carry much significance. People who strongly operate within a culture of Prayer and find Prayer to be second nature, may be called to become an intercessor or even a Watchman.

My personal belief is that no matter what you have been called to do by God in order to fulfill and walk in the integrity of your assignment you must be a person of fervent prayer.

Let me qualify this, by saying that anyone can pray a fervent prayer at any time of the day or night with great power and demonstration. Many will see great manifestation with Signs and Wonders.

We will see many things happen this year on that wise because we are praying in a tipping point season of time.

The Fourth Watch in the pattern that I follow is measured by eight time divisions each carrying a span of three hours for each time division.

Certain events and miracles were recorded as they occurred during a specific time of the day. Some are quite detailed and others might be a bit vague but according to scribes and historians certain details were ascertained.

Some time zones will vary according to what part of the country and where you are located. However the beautiful thing is where prayer might begin in one region the prayer maybe ending in another region.

So no matter where you are located, if you are actively engaged in prayer it is always effective in its purpose. So that a symphony of prayer is created.

So here goes….

This particular Watch deals with Salvation and (being set free by the truth of God’s Words) deliverance.

There is a time to just pray The Word of God, but it is important to be aware there it may be perceived by the enemy as actively advancing upon the enemy’s camp in strategic Spiritual Warfare.

So praying that the enemies devices will not prosper according to scripture and taking that position in full assurance in Christ is essential.

Let me say it is of paramount importance to be fully aware of where and what is your conversation is directed. (There have been times where I have observed conversations in prayer and wandering where that conversation was being spoken to.)

Releasing The Word of God over cities and regions can also be directly engaging with demonic forces (spiritual wickedness in high places) if you are speaking over a place, or especially speaking to The LORD concerning a region.

So having proper discernment is key when we are praying. . .(what is being prayed) as to what kind of spirit are in operation concerning a matter can be detected and exposed and can be helpful in a complex matters.

These kinds of prayers have been effective in understanding attacks upon Israel or other nations by assigned watchmen who have been set over regions by The LORD in leading others in corporate prayer, because this time occurs before the day breaks.

One can pray into the day and effectively order their own perspective, by speaking life, goodness, wisdom and protection prior to it beginning one’s day.

Praying the Psalm and the prayers of the many early fathers, can be uplifting, protective and an excellent beginning to enlisting The LORD’s help, direction and leading even to the calming of one’s heart who may be confused, disoriented, without understanding can through our prayers to The LORD and add illumination to our hearts.

(Even the pattern of The LORD’s Prayer can lead us into the light of God’s word for more understanding. i.e praying daily provision not just financially — but “in all things”.)

Jacob’s encounter with the Angel went on until the breaking of day, which makes it an excellent time to pray into God’s spiritual insights, blessings, maturity and increase coming to the terms that we need “His touch” to change us.

There are some deep truths in that discourse that time doesn’t permit. Prayers of repentance and walking in humility with a heart of a servant can be effective.

Prayers to obtain spiritual discipline and the deliverance from the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

Prayers to carry the overcoming anointing against the works of the flesh. It is said that upon The 4^th Watch, the children of Israel came out of the Egypt walked through the Red Sea upon to dry ground, therefore coming out of a place of captivity from the taskmasters who tried to keep them bound. (What a powerful watch hour. . .)

It is said that Jesus walked upon the waters in the Fourth Watch(Matthew 14:25)

“Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea.“ Matthew 14:25.

When revelation is obtained from God’s word along with the power to pray, it provides astounding results and one’s prayer life becomes explosive, anointed and has endless possibilities..

There is more, but this is an example what great apostolic-prophetic insights, promptings and the dealings of The LORD, that only The LORD can walk us into.

I will say that when I approached this matter with a heart of The LORD, asking show me Your Ways, the more I learned and the more The LORD adjusted my prayers and understanding of prayers and for this I can say, as we grow in Him and are spiritual formed, we will change and adjust according to what He reveals to us, and not what we think we know.

Prayers can become a declaration of our heart’s cry to what we seek, and agree that His Word is true and is good, but we must be open to hear The LORD reveal Light and Understanding, concerning hidden elements required to make difficult decisions and make necessary adjustments.

I could go on and on. . . . . there is so much on this subject. I pray this helps you.

If you wake up often and can’t go back to sleep, it is usually an indication of your possible assigned Prayer Time or Watch.

Remember, these are only guides, and they are not etched in stone.

Please note, we do not pray against people, we pray for people. But we have in Christ Jesus’ authority to deal with the spirits operating in and through circumstances, but even that takes great understanding.

I no longer follow or pray according to the so-called authority of the believer. There has been much teaching who place people in the position that only The LORD stands in. As having a fullness of understanding of these things will take another post.

There is a distinct difference. We also don’t pray against people’s will or mind, which is preying and not praying.

As a Watchman/ Intercessor, we must be accountable to pray with Godly Integrity.
