Shut-ins, bring God and You together!
You know we don’t have those old fashion shut-ins anymore.
Those were the times when God would speak to the leader, to bring the people into the Church and they would fast and pray before The LORD.
Shutting-in, away from the regular routines of their lives, dedicating that time to seeking God for them to be broken, to control the desires of their flesh, to receive directions instructions and guidance from The LORD.
We would lay out before The LORD, not entertaining anything but the presence of The LORD, getting fed wisdom and knowledge from the Word to help build our spiritual man to maturity.
I loved those times when we would have those corporate times of coming together, to seek The LORD. It also caused us to have a stronger bond as a spiritual family, and to learn how to walk in love and unity.
Those times, when we would shut-in together, caused us to see great things. The visitations from The LORD were mind blowing, the miracles of healing and deliverance, the discipline it taught us.
A shut-in is just a special time to shut out the noise of the world, to come into God’s presence and focus completely on Him. You can do this individually, or corporately.
You don’t hear people talking about shutting-in much these days, because of the sacrifice, commitment, and discipline that is connected to it, but being able to just get away into the presence of The LORD, to focus entirely on God, is one of the greatest things I love to do.
Church, we need to go back to these times, and not like these shut-ins they do now, with big screen televisions, pizza, soda, playing games etc.
Shut-ins were about GOD and YOU having personal time together.
LORD we need old fashion shut-ins!
