Shofars of Heaven
I heard the sound of Shofars blowing this morning and I can’t help but think it’s linked to my recent re-postings about the sounds of marching in the treetops!
I know that my spirit leapt when I heard them and the excitement hasn’t left.
Suddenly, I hear the Shofar again — more a Trumpet actually — playing a Fanfare. Taa-Tarata-ta-ta-ta-ta-taa Taa-taa-ta-ta-t’ta! and huge Doors appear in front of me.
Vast, solid, gold-studded Doors, fifty or so feet high. Another Trumpet Fanfare! They open to reveal a huge hall with many thousands of people (or Angels) gathered.
They are all facing a throne where the king, Jesus himself, is seated. Amazingly, the king sees me and extends His Sceptre towards me.
He calls me forward, “Come up here!” I immediately find myself escorted by half a dozen mighty Angels towards The Throne.
The King stands to greet me! “Welcome to My Throne Room.”
He explains the purpose of the room as being what I would understand as His operations centre, where reports are received and orders given.
Is truly and amazing sight. Soldiers everywhere — ranks seemingly decided by their head gear — rather like the old Roman Army!
The atmosphere is one of tangible excitement, mixed with urgency.
I asked, “What’s going on, LORD?”
“We are preparing for the coming battles. The enemy has never really realised that we know every move he makes before he makes it! All the reports we get here are confirmation of what we expected.”
“But what were the Shofar sounding? Why did I hear them?”
“The Shofars you heard were warning the Armies of Heaven to be ready. The enemy is gathering for an all out attack on the people of God.
He wants to destroy The Church before Armageddon, so as to eliminate the prayers of the righteous. He will attack all religious freedoms, all free speech, and all expressions or thoughts of biblical truth.
He is trying to kill Revival before it takes off. But we are expecting this and we are ready for him!”
I remembered all the news stories of rising persecution of Christians. I thought about China, Iran, other places like India, Pakistan, Nigeria, and other hot spots of persecution around the world.
The LORD nodded sadly, then said, “Don’t think that your culture will escape this! The Church needs to wake up and fight this persecution — right through to the highest courts.
Otherwise they will lose what little freedom they have now. For far too long, The Church has laid down and taken persecution.
Do they not remember how I used a whip to drive sin out of My Father’s House? Do they still believe that passive resistance will work?
NO – it is time for militant resistance. Not violence but still militant resistance to those who follow political correctness to the point of suppressing My People.
The Shofars you heard were the warnings that this battle is about to begin.”
He concluded, “GO, tell My People. Warn them! Persecution is coming — it’s time to fight!”
With that, I found myself escorted back to the great doors. As they closed behind me, my escort disappeared and I found myself praising God in my living room.
All this from hearing the Shofar being blown.

Chris Bennett came to salvation in 1962 but didn’t begin ministry until 2007 — a late-comer! Now mandated by The LORD to prophesy and open old wells of revival in the U.K., but especially in Wales. He has also operated Healing Rooms, and worked with deliverance teams, all with his wife, Linda. Happily now doing whatever The LORD asks of them! Founder, with wife Linda, of their ministry The Upper Room Encounter.
Dear brother Chris ! You heard truly the shofars, I know it. Even the sequences are the same that I have heard. It is HOLY what you were given. Your visitation and closeness to the Throne Room, it is a huge revelation. Thank you for sharing.
When reading “All the reports we get here are confirmation of what we expected” I was not sure whether this sentence was meant to be understood as being spoken by God or by man, although it is written in bold blue type. The Lord KNOWS the end from the beginning, and so, unlike man, is not dogged by the uncertainty, which is implied by having expectations that need to be confirmed.
Mr. Bennett, Just a quick question. Do you have a Shofar and do you use it. Thank you for this post.
