“Share My Life!”
“Although He had done so many signs before them, they did not believe in Him, that the word of Isaiah the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke: “Lord, who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of The LORD been revealed?” John 12:37-38
I was conversing with The LORD around 4:00 a.m. this morning, and I brought up how so many Christians today believe the “success” of a Ministry/ Church is based on how many people one can bring (into a building) or lead.
I said I know it’s a form of pride, because quantity is not a reflection of quality.
Then The LORD began to speak to me about the ministry He had while here on earth. He said that while He was here, He experienced all the phases of ministry: what it was like to preach to thousands, and what it was to have the “ministry of one.”
“The ministry of one?” I thought, so I asked Him to elaborate…..
The LORD said that although He experienced every type of “platform” one can have in ministry, in the end, the ministry of one was the most effective.
The ministry of one like the Samaritan woman at the well, the blind man in the temple, the man at the pool of Bethesda, the adulteress, Zacchaeus, Lazarus, the leper (the one that returned), and many more.
But the five thousand (plus) from the sermon on the mount only returned to Him, because of the food that was provided. And though He ministered and preformed miracles for thousands, most did not believe in Him.
The LORD said that many people return again and again to gatherings because they are only searching for the things that He can provide, instead of The LORD, Himself.
To actually seek Him, and only Him requires sacrifice: death to self, riches, and treasure of this life. In means trails, tribulations, persecution, and the fellowship of His sufferings.
Most are not interested in this.
In 2011, Jesus came to me after a forty-day fast, and at the end of His visit, I asked Him was there anything I could do for Him.
He studied my face for a minute, and then said, “Share My Life!”
I’ll never forget this, because I knew exactly what He meant: to share/ partake in everything; even in His suffering.
The first in this life will be last in heaven. The greatest is not the master, but the servant.
