This phrase came to me while we were away in Birmingham a few years back: “Severity and Compassion!”

The LORD just brought it back to mind — “The severity and compassion of Christ’s love”.

I then thought — hell and heaven, lost and saved, condemned and justified?

I got the impression that I was getting ahead of myself, so I stopped for a few moments to wait on The LORD. Here’s what I felt The LORD saying to us, “Prepare The Church to experience the Severity and Compassion of Christ’s Love for His Bride.

He cannot — and will not — return for a non-perfect Bride, therefore He must prepare her and, where necessary, clean her up.

There has to be an increase in holiness — a diminishing of self and an increase of Me.

Your ego must go, and My Spirit must take over.

Your heart must soften more — and not harden again — as I remove or repair the cracks in My chosen vessels.

You will experience My Severity as we go through these processes together. Even so, you will also experience My Compassion as I make your heart like my heart — as you allow me to ‘break your heart for what breaks Mine.

If you are to be used by Me in these coming days, then you must expect to experience My Severity and My Compassion while I prepare you for what lies in store for you.

I will look at your heart first, and that is the only criteria for My Decision about your usefulness to My Kingdom.

The rest is simply part and parcel of your journey towards the holiness I ask of you.

A willing heart and a willing spirit is all I need to begin. Are you ready?”
