There is an old story that so ably tells exactly how to understand what Jesus Christ did to save men.

Many have warped thinking about salvation, and much confusion has entered into their thoughts, but this story does tell it all……………..

There was a person, convicted and guilty of a terrible crime. That person was in the prison waiting for the executioner to come and take away the life which was so guilty.

There was no doubt as to the persons guilt, nor was the punishment fixing to be administered too great. The fact was very evident, the sin and crime was real and death would be deserved.

At just the moment before the jailer came to take that person to the electric chair… in walked a man.

He came near the bars and talked to the jailer, “I will take his place if you will just let him go!”

“What?” the jailer said, “You will do what?”

The man said, “I will give my life for his sins and crimes. I will die in his place!”

The jailer said…. “Okay.”

Turning to the guilty party he said, “You are set free.”

Then the man walked in to the cell, to die for the crime of the other.

This is exactly what Jesus did for me, and for you, sinner.

Jesus took my/ your place and was killed.

I went free, and so did you…

Just because of Jesus who set us free.

Scripture:

“Who His own self bare our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by Whose stripes ye were healed,” 1 Peter 2:24.
