Seeking God’s Help
Some people want help, healing, and deliverance… but… they want it their way.
God does resist a proud heart and a haughty spirit. In order to find the Lord’s help out of trouble one will find himself/herself very humbled before God. Some when looking for God’s help or other Christians to (with God’s Help) to help them come with a proud heart of anger … as if they are right and everyone else is wrong. And… they even are angry, most of all, with God Himself because they believe God is the one who has done the wrong thing concerning them. Before any person can gain help… they must be broken and of a contrite heart. Most of the time it is some sin that has caused the problems in their life and there must be a place to repent and to turn from such sin. Some act as if they have done nothing wrong and if you try to help them they get angry. This is pure self pride. The way to God is not UP… BUT DOWN.
A man called Naman came to the Prophet to be cured of his leprosy and was angered when the Prophet did not come out and speak to him but only sent word to go and wash in the Jordan river seven times. He said, I fugured he would come out and strike his hand over me and I would be healed, but no… he sent his servent. and who wants to dip in the muddy waters of the Jordan river… As he went away angry his servent said, master is it too much to just obey and humble yourself and go wash in the Jordan? Who knows if you will be healed? Than Naman did turn and obey. He was instantly healed. So PRIDE almost kept Naman from being healed. But in the end he humbled himself and did as the prophet said. Many today would be healed if they would only be humble and obey.Another problem with Naman was that He was an… IMPORTANT MAN and felt like he did deserve better treatment from the Man of God. God saw Naman’s heart.
The Scripture says in James 4:6-10
“But he giveth more grace, Wherefore he saith, God, resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.
HUMBLE YOURSELVES IN THE SIGHT OF THE LORD, AND HE SHALL LIFT YOU UP.”
