Seek after Holiness and Righteousness
Instead of Seeking Money and Things …
Seek after Holiness and Righteousness!
“But seek ye first the kingdom of god, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you” Matthew 6:33.
We have to get our priorities straight. It is time for us to stop seeking after money and things and start seeking after the deeper things of God, then our lives would be better.
We are in times now where most messages that are preached and taught are money and things motivated. Instead of preparing the people hearts and souls for righteous living, the focus now is to expect more money and more material resources from God.
It has gotten so bad now that people are forgetting that you have to “first seek the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all of these things will be added”…
No matter where you turn, on TV, social media, the internet and any place that it can be communicated – “money and things are the main theme.”
Now, this is not saying that God does not bless us financially or with material things when you are faithful in holiness and righteous living, God doesn’t< mind the money and things as long as it is not our main and only focus and seeking him is first in our lives! Yes, God want us to give and to live right both at the same time! But some of us are trying to "skip" over steps and think we can just buy our way out or pray over our sinful and wicked ways. This is not so, and God is not pleased at such heresy! Not only is it the fault of the people, but there are those who will preach, teach, and prophesy in such a way to make you think that you can just forget about living right as long as you "give" or sow your way through. Have we forgotten that God is creator and ruler of all things? Did He not give His son for us to be redeemed of our sin? Is a dollar more important than the purpose and work of Christ? The answer is a positive and absolute NO! Money does not phase God! He owns everything, including the universe, the earth and the people and things that are within it!
“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both god and money” Matthew 6:24.
What God requires, is that we all repent and turn from our wicked ways. Can we continue to willfully sin, day in and day out and God just overlooks it? God forbid (Romans 6:1)!
We have to do all of the word of God. We have to strive to live every part fully. We can’t just give and not live right. This is not pleasing to God! It’s either we repent, turn to God or consequences will be the reward for all of us who continues to live our lives day to day in sin.
The people have become “spoiled” and want prayer for everything, but a desire to live righteous and holy for the Lord. Most want other to pray only pray for material and financial blessings, while they are living life in all kinds of sin.
Well, no one can pray through anyone’s sin and God is not going to just open the windows of heaven and bless when our lives are not inline with His Word! The watchmen of God who are guilty of these things are in grave trouble when the hearts of the people are turned away from God and turned away to idolatry and sinful living! The blood is required at the had for all those who mislead the people away because of selfish greed and impure motives (Ezekiel 33:1-11).
God’s word is going forth about the things of the spirit and kingdom purpose, and it is not all about how much money or how many things you can have in life. God is not just sending a word about money and mammon because you cannot serve two masters. But its about your turning away from sin and seeking God with your whole heart!
Don’t set your heart on the treasures of this earth, but instead on the things of God! We need to stop praying for more money and things and seek after the heart of God for holiness and righteous living!
“For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” Matthew 16:26.
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” Matthew 6:19-21.
