Roots of Bitterness Causing Us to Be Defiled
2 Words in 1
What is the GRACE of God?
What is the GRACE of God?
It is an unmerited ( not deserved) favor and love that God shows to humanity, a GIFT from God, not earned by our own human effort or deeds, but freely given.
So many of us take this for granted, ungrateful, not remembering where God has brought us from, done for and delivered us from.
We have forgotten our FIRST LOVE!
We feel like we are ENTITLED and so we do not REVERENCE the Most High.
Even our prayers are wishy-washy. We devote our time and energy to other trivial and temporal things and treat God like a second fiddle maybe, because we haven’t seen Him like Moses did FACE to FACE.
But for that to happen the SPIRIT OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD MUST RETURN.
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through Faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9.
Roots of Bitterness Causing Us to Be Defiled
“Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled,” Hebrews 12:14-15.
There are many of us who are deeply wounded, and harboring or reminiscing on hurts done to us not even willingly, but because we have not been healed of the emotional and psychological damage done from abuse, disappointments, betrayal, abandonment, rejection, offense, etc and because of this there is a root of bitterness on the inside that is now causing us (as the scripture says) to be DEFILED (unfit, unclean, polluted)…
The enemy is so wicked , he knows these things and works to cause issues that have the potential to create animosity among people all in an effort for us to FAIL IN THE GRACE OF GOD meaning falling short of or missing out on the full benefits and blessings that God’s grace offers.
Today , let us pray and ask God to heal us, cleanse us, help us to forgive others include every persecutor and those who have trespassed and dealt wickedly and unjustly against us and guard our hearts against bitterness.
Let every Taproot of bitterness be plucked up from us, in Jesus’ Name
Shalom
