Rise Above Challenges
Ever felt cornered, caught between a rock and a hard place? These times are not enjoyed and many dread and would rather avoid. In such times, the Lord knows that He has given us all it takes to turn this situation around for our victory. By nature God is victorious and by status we are also victorious. However, we have the divine nature of God in us, and that is where our victory springs from to become evident and a reality in life.
As born-again new creations, our spirits are recreated and restored to the divine nature they were created for. We are spiritual beings with spiritual, intellectual, moral and natural abilities. By default after we are born in this world, it is our moral, intellectual and natural abilities that are cultivated, developed and emphasized by our parents and community. So the spiritual abilities are not developed and cannot truly be enhanced until we are born-again. At our second birth, when we accept the Lordship of Christ, our spirits are made alive and our spiritual abilities are activated with a need to be developed fully. In the same way muscles can atrophy and remain undeveloped, our spiritual abilities can be so unexplored that in times of challenges, we give up, quit or at worst curse God. You have the divine ability in you. You are enabled by the Spirit of God to do supernatural things.
How is all this possible? You may ask! The bible says; “The spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity; but a wounded spirit who can bear?” Proverbs 18:14 KJV. You spirit is what sustains you during times of infirmity, sickness, challenges and hardship. That is where God’s nature is, and that is the invincible base for the enemy, because it houses the Spirit of God. Your spirit, which is also called the inner man (Ephesians 3:17) or hidden man of the spirit, is your bastion of strength, your fortress and launch pad from where you resist the enemy and he flees from you. Your spirit should be fed on God’s word and also energized by your fellowship with the Spirit. Speaking in tongues, is also a sure way to embolden and charge up your spirit (Jude 20, 1 Corinthians 14:4). On the contrary, when your spirit is wounded; bitter, hurt, filled with anger and unforgiveness, it cannot sustain you as it should. That is why the wisest man, told us by the Spirit of God, to guard our hearts above all else (Proverbs 4:23). Your spirit is where the wisdom to get you out of any unwanted situation is released. Fortify your spirit with the word of God, speaking in tongues, and fellowship, as you guard it from any and every negative influence that will crush it.
“A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit” Proverbs 15:4 KJV. A wholesome tongue is a tongue or speech in line with God’s word. It also means a healing tongue; kind words, it is a tree of life. Perverseness in your speech; speaking contrary to God’s word and intended purposes for your life makes a breach in your spirit. It bores loopholes in your life. No matter what you see or feel, refuse to speak fear, death or disease; let your tongue be wholesome. Refuse to let the situation overwhelm you with fear, dread and depression. In such times, you can speak in tongues deeply and declare God’s word over the affairs of your life. Certain miracles you need are connected to other people; they might have a part to play. So, as you speak in line with God’s word, you set the stage for the right environment, opportunities and people, for your advancement. Don’t make a breach in your spirit through perverseness in your speech. It doesn’t matter who is saying what about your situation, trust in God and from your spirit speak God’s word boldly in your situation. Refuse to buckle under pressure, to give up in fear and to retreat in cowardice. I pray for you, that by God’s grace you will rise up above each and every undesirable predicament, which is not consistent with God’s word and plans for your life.
