Revelation Studies for Sons — David & King Saul
Why was it so incredibly difficult for King Sual to make room for David, the Anointed little Sheppard boy, to come into his kingdom and to function in his Anointing?
Because it had become HIS kingdom.
What he had been granted STEWARDSHIP over when “he was little in his own eyes”, he now had taken OWNERSHIP of.
Nothing was allowed to threaten his position or his throne. Nothing could be allowed to be greater than Saul, or greater than his throne.
Everything had to be controlled and marginalised, so that Saul would always be seen as the king, the greatest over all in his kingdom, with everyone else being subservient to him, both in ability and in their position.
Trouble came to Saul the day God allowed David to enter his house.
David would carry the Anointing in a way that would allow God to be seen and celebrated, above all. In his eyes God was King and all else subservient to His Throne. Although he honoured Saul’s kingship at all times, he was never going to “hide” God for the sake of any man.
When Saul heard the people singing, “Saul killed his thousands, but David his tens of thousands!”, the writing was on the wall. David had touched and desecrated Saul’s throne.
He had dared to rise higher than Saul in the eyes of the people, and from that day forward an Anointed friend, became a hated foe in the eyes of Saul.
Saul lost a great Anointed warrior at the expense of his self appointed position, as lord over Israel, rather than a serving king.
He lost more than David, he lost his heart also, and unbeknowning to him, he also had already lost his position as king, and the kingdom that had been entrusted to him.
Politics, as the above, still ruin kings whom God had appointed as stewards, but who ultimately became more than that in their own eyes, who took ownership of what had been given for stewardship.
It does not only ruin these men, but robs God’s people from the Anointing that aught to have been ushered in, and should have worked in their midst, but was either so restricted that it could not function, or was banned completely, because it decided to break the eggs on which it was supposed to walk lightly.
Unless God is not crowned KING over His house, it is no longer His house!
Before we do not give back what we were never supposed to take ownership of in the first place, we will never see Him in His Glory, seated where He alone belongs – ON THE THRONE, with all else bowing to Him below it!
