Repentance is Key!
An older post brought to mind today that reminds us of the holiness of God. Well worth the rerun!
There is an old army adage that says that if you repeat an urgent command three times, then on the third time the order is shouted, you will get the required action.
Funny then, isn’t it, that The Gospels tell us three times to “repent for the Kingdom of God is near”.
“In those days John the Baptist came preaching in the wilderness of Judea, and saying, “Repent, for The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!” Matthew 3:1-2
“From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.”” Matthew 4:17
“Jesus came to Galilee, preaching The Gospel of The Kingdom of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in The Gospel.”” Mark 1:14-15
In these days of deception and easy watered down Gospel preaching, I find it refreshing to see anything on Repentance appearing in any of the social media forums.
Yet today, I feel a strong Word from The LORD all about that missing word.
I believe The LORD would say to His Church at this time, that Repentance is the single most important key to Healing, Renewal, Revival, and most importantly, Salvation.
We can pray all we want to — but without Repentance and Forgiveness, there will be no Healing; there will be no Renewal; and there will be no Revival.
The LORD is once again repeating the words of 2 Chronicles 7:13-15,
“When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.”
Did you hear that, really hear it I mean?
If My people . . . . repent . . . then I will . . . . . Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place.
The LORD is watching and listening for us to act according to His Word; to repent and turn from our ways to His ways.
Repentance is not a popular word, or promise, or action — it is, for the most part, both alien and abhorrent to our nature.
It’s hard to admit and confess our wrong doing or our omissions from our doing. Yet that is what The LORD wants from His Church today — Repentance.
I don’t think He minds how often we Repent, so long as we do it and keep ourselves clean before His Throne.
This is about personal and corporate Holiness in The Presence of a Holy — but merciful — God. Without it, we are headed nowhere fast. With it, who knows…. but God . . . .

He has also operated Healing Rooms, and worked with deliverance teams, all with his wife, Linda. Happily now doing whatever The LORD asks of them! Founder, with wife Linda, of their ministry The Upper Room Encounter.
Thank you man of God. Often, I find myself saying, “I’m sorry Lord, I shouldn’t have said that”.. like yesterday. It’s morning now so…here we go. ( Me and the Lord )
2 Chronicles 7:13-15 has for me, always been a bit disheartening to read and consider, because the Lord says to His people to TURN not just from their ways – but “wicked” ways. It’s one thing to be weak – we ALL are, quite another to be wicked. We can be weak and still witness for God, Gal. 5:16 – but surely not both…… Repent!
