Refuse to DIE!
It is a scientific fact that every living thing grows, and whatever grows later regresses and finally dies. However, the greater truth of God’s word shows us that those in Christ are different species; they have abundant life and they shall not die (John 10:10, 11:26). “He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life” (1 John 5:12). In spiritual terms, death is not cessation of life, because this is not possible for man; it is the process of degeneration that leads to loss and fruitlessness, it is life without God that is open to all the influences of the devil. Anything can die; a business, relationships, plans and even marriages; but this is not the portion of the children of God. You can refuse to experience death in any aspect of your life.
As far man’s body is concerned, it is easy to see the process of death at work. When the eyes die, the person becomes blind yet still existing, when the heart fails, he is put on life support, when the muscles die, he uses clutches and when the nerves die, the person becomes paralysed. These are all processes of death even when the person is still alive. All the scientific remedies given are limited, which means there must be a better way. David said; “I shall not die, but live, And declare the works of the LORD. The LORD has chastened me severely, But He has not given me over to death” (Psalms 118:17-18). He knew his God-given right and he declared it! There are not many Kings in biblical history that escaped death like David did; right from an early age, he came face to face with death wrecking situations and he was never hurt. This scripture shows us why; he refused to die by speaking life. Friend there is a lot of power in your tongue, which if used appropriately will avail you an upward and forward life only. “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit” (Proverbs 18:21). Unfortunately many are releasing death through their tongue; they always speak negatively about everything in their lives . They say things like; ‘This coldness will kill me’ , ‘I am stressed to death’, ‘This marriage will not work’, ‘Things are not working for me’, the list goes on! But just like David, you can refuse to die, in any aspect of your life. Even when the time for David to leave this world came, he rested. He was the only King who chose a successor while yet alive, prepared for him and had him enthroned and then he rested; what a way to move into eternal glory. “For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, was buried with his fathers” (Acts 13:36).
As said before, the truth is everyone will live eternally; some will live in eternal glory while others in eternal damnation depending on whether they accepted Christ or not. But while still on earth, we need to enjoy a glorious life, an abundant life, the life of God in us which impacts on all aspects of our lives. Develop resilience in your spirit that does not allow you to succumb to the effects of death in the world. If you are in Christ, you have this victory over the effects of death, Jesus defeated it and rose from the dead triumphantly. Your marriage is not supposed to die, your liver should not fail, and your womb is alive and carries a baby in Jesus’ name . No death for you, refuse it and speak life. Yes you have the Spirit in you; “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think of anything as being from ourselves, but our sufficiency is from God, who also made us sufficient as ministers of the new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life” (2 Corinthians 3:5-6). The Spirit in you gives life, not just to your body but to everything that concerns you. Jesus also said; “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life” (John 6:63). The Spirit that raised Christ from the dead lives in you; why won’t He avail this same resurrection power in your life whenever you need it. “But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you” (Romans 8:11). Your mortal body; the earthly body is vitalized and given life by the Spirit that raised Christ from the dead; you do not live by your blood, but by God’s Spirit. Release this life through your words and if something has already died, you can command it to live, since this power is available for every believer (Ephesians 1:19-20)
By speaking the words of Jesus as inspired by the Spirit, you release life in every circumstance. Refuse death in your business, family, finances and in everything that concerns you by deliberately and consistently speaking life in faith. Your tongue is all that it will take to cause this life to flow; it will steer your life clear of all death dealing circumstances like it did for David. “Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things” (James 3:4-5). Just as a small rudder turns the course of a large ship during fierce winds, your tongue, a little member of your body turns the course of your life even during hardships. It boasts great things; it can do great damage or access for you a great escape! Use your tongue and speak life to your body organs and parts that are degenerating. Command a manifestation of a glorious life; “In the way of righteousness is life, And in its pathway there is no death” (Proverbs 12:28). So declare; ‘In my pathway there is no death, there is only life, I and all that is mine shall not die but live to testify of the Lord’s goodness.’ In your pathway, is your family, business, job; it is your destiny and that is where there is no death. Refuse to die, you were redeemed. As far as your life on earth is concerned, do not expect to be taken out by accidents, sicknesses, assassins, terrorists or disasters; you will rest at a good old age. The bible says; “When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble . I will rescue them and honor them. I will satisfy them with a long life and give them my salvation” (Psalms 91:15-16 NLT). This is your portion as a child of God; live a life of glory to bring honour and glory to God.
