Reestablishing of the Foundation of Holiness
Nehemiah 13:14-21 (below) was a word God gave me last night on the Detroit radio station.
As I was studying this book, the Spirit of God spoke to me concerning the reestablishing of the foundation of holiness and patterns of righteousness back into His house.
Nehemiah was astonished at the activities that he saw occurring on the Sabbath. How they were buying selling and doing the things they were not suppose to be doing at that time.
Nehemiah got upset and went to the Nobles of Judah (their chief men and rulers) to inquired of them “What Evil Thing” they were doing.
It’s the same way today. God is sending men and women into the churches and they are inquiring about what evil thing are the leaders allowing to go on in this hour.
He reminds them that those who had gone before them, had already done evil. But they themselves were doing worst, as they were profaning the Sabbath.
In this hour, we are doing worse by allowing the enemy to cause us to do things which are not pleasing to God.
We have brought a polluted worship before the LORD and have established a place of greed.
We entertain and we do works of the flesh, when we gather together corporately.
Nehemiah had set people to watch, to make sure that they didn’t do anything that was outside of the will of God, as the Father had established that they remain holy and their actions righteous, according to the standards He set. But they rebelled and disobeyed and attempted to go beyond what Nehemiah had said.
The anger of Nehemiah was so strong because of their disobedience and disregard for what he had spoken, that in verse 21, he asked them why were they there. He then threatened them that if he caught them there outside the gate, trying to sneak and do what was wrong, he would lay hands on them and punish them for refusing to obey the direct orders that they were given.
In this hour, instead of leaders correcting situations, they are allowing the people to continue to do what is against the will of God.
It’s time to rebuild the spiritual laws of holiness back in the Body of Christ and bring the people back to a place of righteousness.
Like Nehemiah, when we see the things that we have built according to the will of God being tore down, we must rise up take a stand and declare that we will not allow anyone to profane the name of God, nor the house we have built for worship!
“14 Remember me, O my God, concerning this, and do not wipe out my good deeds that I have done for the house of my God, and for its services! 15 In those days I saw people in Judah treading wine presses on the Sabbath, and bringing in sheaves, and loading donkeys with wine, grapes, figs, and all kinds of burdens, which they brought into Jerusalem on the Sabbath day. And I warned them about the day on which they were selling provisions. 16 Men of Tyre dwelt there also, who brought in fish and all kinds of goods, and sold them on the Sabbath to the children of Judah, and in Jerusalem. 17 Then I contended with the nobles of Judah, and said to them, “What evil thing is this that you do, by which you profane the Sabbath day? 18 Did not your fathers do thus, and did not our God bring all this disaster on us and on this city? Yet you bring added wrath on Israel by profaning the Sabbath.”
19 So it was, at the gates of Jerusalem, as it began to be dark before the Sabbath, that I commanded the gates to be shut, and charged that they must not be opened till after the Sabbath. Then I posted some of my servants at the gates, so that no burdens would be brought in on the Sabbath day. 20 Now the merchants and sellers of all kinds of wares lodged outside Jerusalem once or twice.
21 Then I warned them, and said to them, “Why do you spend the night around the wall? If you do so again, I will lay hands on you!” From that time on they came no more on the Sabbath,” Nehemiah 13:14-21 (NKJV)
