In these dark times, previously called Red October, I want to encourage people to keep your focus upon God.

Keep your Faith and keep your trust in Him!

As we approach The Day of Atonement, Yom Kippur, October 11-12, 2024, we see signs of encouragement coming from the ever-present signs of discouragement!

On the one hand the manufactured storm, Milton, over Florida is actually decreasing, (at 12:01pm EST, October 9th 2024), while aid is finally beginning to reach the victims of the hurricane Helene.

On the other hand one million women — mothers, wives, aunts, sisters —- some with their men-folk and families —- are gathering to stand and pray on Washington Mall on the actual Day of Atonement.

I suspect that other similar events are being planned around the world and some will coincide with the Washington event.

This is, I’m convinced, because much of The Church, and indeed many outside The Church, are praying and interceding fervently.

The focus is shifting away from ourselves, and our various situations, towards God — where the focus should have been all along.

Having said that, we must be prepared for more bad events, more natural and man-made disasters.

Much has been prophesied about this time and as much as some will prove accurate, so much will prove to be just groundless scaremongering.

Nevertheless, we must keep interceding and keep our focus upon God.

The level of distracting scaremongering is growing — some worthy of our serious prayers, while some, when analyzed, will be shown to be outrageous rumours aimed at keeping as many folk scared and compliant as possible.

I am convinced that the level of evil being displayed is only commensurate, but less than, the power of God!

In this situation, I hold always before me the very first passage of the bible that The LORD highlighted to me as a new Christian — in Romans 8,

“As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our LORD.” Romans 8:36-39.
