Pulpit Provisions for a Godly Spiritual Life?
People can really get things twisted to deceive themselves and mislead others as well.
In my observation. in the recent past, much garbage has been coming out from the pulpits, yet no one seems to see these things as hindrances to growth in spiritual essence.
First of all, there are statements that preachers make which can make you wonder if they are businessmen or witch-doctors!
I see a lot of African witchcraft concealed in modern Christian scholarship and presented by decent men and women in coloured suits.
Don’t get me wrong – if you like…… you will hear very common statements like “Position your self,” or like “Know your purpose,” “Get out of the boat,” “Surround yourself with certain class,” or simply do this or that, or you are already that which you want to be.
Now such statements may not be evil. But in my opinion they are better than receiving nothing, just as you would if you sat in a life coach’s class for something.
My concern however is, where is the priority?
Its like you have to achieve something physical, no matter what it takes, for it and the pulpit has your back. We have built exclusivity and self-centred motives.
But we are dying, while still trying to achieve some ambitious goal sponsored by sin, while we should in fact be dying under persecution, or as we lay our lives one to another in helping in evangelism etc..
The truth is, such will not bring you at a real point of spiritual confrontation with self for sincere change of heart. I am talking about things to do with the righteousness and the hunger and the thirst for Godly spiritual life.
Ask yourself if at all, can everything you hear from the pulpit leverage spiritual results and change in your Christianity? And this is the purpose of pulpit ministry.
There are Ministries, then the Ascension gifts, then the plan, the Substance and lastly the intended results which is…. till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.
“And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ” Ephesians 4:11-13.
