Prophets and Politics
There are those today who believe that prophets should steer clear of politics and stick to edifying and correcting the body.
My answer has always been two pointed :-
- What about Jeremiah’s commission?
“See, today I have appointed you over nations and over kingdoms: to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.” Jeremiah 1:10.
“Then The LORD stretched out His hand and touched my mouth and said to me,“Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.” Jeremiah 1:9.
- Were Isaiah, Jeremiah, Daniel, Ezekiel, and John the Baptist not political?
- Was Nathan not political when he confronted David?
- Were Amos or Joel or Hosea completely non-political?
- Where does Moses fit in the non-political arena? Or Deborah?
- What about Elijah and Elisha?
- Isaiah was sawn in half for his utterances — were they not political?
- Jeremiah spent long periods confined to the sewer – was that not for being political?
- Daniel and his friends would not bow to political authority!
- John was beheaded for his political speaking!
Yes, there is an important place for edification, encouragement, and correction of The Church.
There is a place for building up, tearing down, and destroying those who lead us away from God’s Will.
There is also a place for tearing down and destroying those who build or maintain kingdoms and governments that deny God and lead Nations away from Him.
Sorry to point this out to those who believe otherwise, but some prophets, not all by any means, but some prophets are called upon to speak into the political realm — to uproot and to tear down, to destroy and to overthrow, to build and to plant.
As it is written,
“For The LORD ADONAI, will do nothing, unless He has revealed His counsel to His servants the prophets. A lion has roared, who will not fear? My LORD ADONAI has spoken, who shall not prophesy?” Amos 3:7-8 TLV

Brother Chris,
You couldn’t have said it any better. Right to the point, and so very true. Blessings.
This is perfect and so biblical, I believe. I couldn’t agree with you more. Thanks, Chris. Let’s keep moving forward, no matter what♡
Wow Amazing thank GOD. HALLELUJAH AMEN.
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Thank you
Blessings
Lest we forget, Chris, a prophet is a spokesperson for God. God has always used prophets to focus on the actions of Kings and rulers. Back in the Old Testament, they had to line up with the Law of Moses. Now we call ‘government’ politics. The world is always doing a play on words to shut God out. But He is truly the King of King and prophets are an instrument in His hands to speak His heart, His ‘plan’. He is the power behind the words of a prophet and the prophet will answer to God alone, not the opinion of man. Great word, my brother! Sandi (LOVE Jeremiah 1:10)
Thank you Sandi,
God bless you
So spot on my brother! It comes down I believe if a true prophet of God there heart motives must be pure. No place for junk and hidden agendas. So many good points you brought out sir. Thank you for this. Many blessings.
Thank you,
God bless you
