How Are We In Our Preparation?
I believe that we are and have been living in the times of the “Babylonian captivity”. This was revealed when the LORD spoke to me during prayer on September 3rd through Jeremiah 29:1 -23.
Jeremiah sent a letter from God to the surviving captives to encourage and assure them all, that the LORD had not forgotten them, and that He would help and deliver them at His appointed time.
In Verses 5–7, the LORD says to all exiles,
“build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat their produce. Take wives and have sons and daughters; take wives for your sons, and give your daughters in marriage, that they may bear sons and daughters; multiply there, and do not decrease. But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the LORD on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare“.
Therefore, let us continue to lift up all our leaders and government of nations, our leaders of churches and the body of Christ, our community and our family in prayer before the LORD. His grace and mercy is always enough to see us through all circumstances.
In Verses 8–9, God warns his people through Jeremiah against false prophets and imposters, and of their deceptions and lies:
“For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Do not let your prophets and your diviners who are among you deceive you, and do not listen to the dreams that they dream, for it is a lie that they are prophesying to you in my name; I did not send them, declares the LORD”.
Family of God, let us faithfully remain prayerful, continue to seek the LORD and His face, seek His Word and test the spirit and He will guide us and reveal the truth to us. Let us not also fall victim to false prophets and imposters.
The LORD will see us through our hardship and sufferings and has promised to restore us in His way, at His appointed time.
Jeremiah Verses 10–11 reads,
“When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will visit you, and I will fulfill to you my promise and bring you back to this place. For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”.
Verse 14 says,
“I will be found by you, declares the LORD, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the LORD, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile”.
In his address to the captives of Babylon, Jeremiah reveals that there were some who had believed in and been deceived by, false prophets, who promised them that their captivity was for a short period only and that they would soon return to their own land – a false hope.
Verses 17-19 read,
“Thus says the LORD of hosts, behold, I am sending on them sword, famine, and pestilence, and I will make them like vile figs that are so rotten they cannot be eaten. I will pursue them with sword, famine, and pestilence, and will make them a horror to all the kingdoms of the earth, to be a curse, a terror, a hissing, and a reproach among all the nations where I have driven them, because they did not pay attention to my words, declares the LORD, that I persistently sent to you by my servants the prophets, but you would not listen, declares the LORD”.
Jeremiah prophesied that our God of Truth will pour out his judgements upon the false prophets; for their lies and rebellion against Him, and for deceiving and misleading His people to fall further into sin.
Awake, awake! Let us remain steadfast and faithful in our journey with the LORD.
Continue to give thanks, worship and praise Him in spirit and in truth as He gives us discernment and leads us out of all hidden darkness and captivity.
