Prayer Points for Us to Align with our Five Spiritual Senses
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32.
Good evening.
We know that we possess five natural senses.
Sometimes one of our ‘natural senses’ does not function at all or just in part.
That is not to be the main focus here. Still, I will say that if one of our natural senses does not work right, we can develop stronger in another area.
e.g. Someone that cannot see may develop a stronger sense of hearing, etc.
*With our spiritual senses we can also see; hear; smell; touch and taste after God.
Although, first comes the natural then the spiritual:
“Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.” 1 Corinthians 15:46.
It is very important to exercise and sharpen all five of these senses.
Let us truly line up our hearts with His perspective from heaven! That is my prayer today.
I am seeking God to put this in a proper order in this article and for my words and prayer to be clear.
Let me say here, I walk respectfully in this, realizing there are some giants of the faith who read this and I do so honor you!
Many have delved far deeper writing on this subject.
By no means do I profess to be an authority on this subject as a Bible Scholar.
Still my authority is from the Lord and I present this to try to purely get us all closer to the Lord.
We can learn from one another and if we are mature in Christ we will wish to do so. So this is my prayer today.
#1 Eyes
“Lord, we pray you will give us spiritual eyes to see.
We know we are Your eyes on this earth today.
We choose to guard our spiritual eye gates to anything you don’t want us to see.
May we discern properly. Let us see truth and walk in it.”
#2 Ears
“We now pray, Lord to hear in the spirit only what you want us to hear.
Lord we pray you open our spiritual ears to hear things properly.
We choose to reject and guard our ear gates of any discordant sound that the enemy is trying to bring in to us as seeking to be spirit filled Christians.”
Let us use proper discernment that we are hearing the true sound only of what a person is really saying.
We are to be His ears today on earth.
#3 Nose
“Father God, we pray now that you may train and equip us how to smell properly in the Kingdom of God.
May we smell like the fragrance of Heaven and give off that odor only.
We choose to guard our nose gates to not let the stench of sin attach to us.
We thank you Lord for this insight in this area.
Still while we are praying this prayer we ask also Father God, we may not ever have a ‘holier than thou attitude’, but that you bring our smell into proper alignment in the Kingdom of God.”
#4 Touch
“Lord we pray to touch and handle the Word of God correctly and very carefully!
We pray we do not touch the unclean thing.
We choose to guard with sensitivity this gate against also touching and trying to steal thy glory.”
#5 Taste
“Lord we pray to always be tasting of your goodness.
We choose to disassociate our taste buds of this world.
We guard this gate from the devil’s playground.
We now surrender this all to you, and pray in the Name of Jesus, the Name that is above all Names. Amen.”
I will close with some scriptures for today and hope this may be a blessing to anyone who reads.
Also, may many of you expound it out further.
God bless you
“The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.” Proverbs 20:12.
“If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?” 1 Corinthians 12:17.
“Which say, Stand by thyself, come not near to me; for I am holier than thou. These are a smoke in my nose, a fire that burneth all the day.” Isaiah 65:5.
“O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” Psalm 34:8.
“Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.” Psalm 24:3-4.

But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
2 Corinthians 2:15-16 AMPC
For we are the sweet fragrance of Christ [which exhales] unto God, [discernible alike] among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing:
To the latter it is an aroma [wafted] from death to death [a fatal odor, the smell of doom]; to the former it is an aroma from life to life [a vital fragrance, living and fresh]….
