Let us continue to remember Afghanistan and lift up the Afghan people in prayer.

The following are some prayer points for Afghanistan:

Pray for the Afghan Church:

• For Security — Pray that God will protect, provide, rescue and comfort hiding Afghan Christians.
  Pray for leaders to have courage and wisdom in leading and nurturing different groups.
  Pray for those trapped and being targeted, that God would make them “invisible”.
• For Faith — Pray that God will keep His suffering Church strong in faith and powerful in witness.
  Pray for believers to persevere and suffer well and bear eternal fruits.
• For Revival — Pray that God will use the Afghan Church make Himself known through the, bringing forth great revival and harvests for His glory.
• For Unity — Pray against a spirit of judgment or bitterness between those who have fled and those who stayed.
  Ask God to purify and unify the Afghan Church around the world.
• For Perseverance — Pray that God’s presence will be real to the believers, bringing forth refuge, strength, courage, peace, encouragement, comfort, hope and ever-present help in this horrific time.
  Pray for wisdom as believers struggle to live and reach others.

Pray for Christian Workers:

• Pray for Christian workers still serving in the country.
  Pray for protection and that all humanitarian efforts will be effective and fruitful.
• Most foreign workers were forced to leave the country.
  Pray that God would use His servants in mighty ways both inside and outside the nation.

Pray for the Taliban:

• Pray for God to work powerfully in the hearts of Islamic extremists, including the Taliban and ISIS, that they would come to encounter Jesus and have their lives changed.
• Pray against further upsurge in Islamic extremism and radicalism in the region, as the Taliban consolidates power in the country.
• Pray for open doors for the Gospel, especially among the Islamic extremists, and that God will raise up and release a new generation of Kingdom Laborers for Afghanistan.

Pray for the Afghan People:

• Pray for countless people desperate or fleeing the country.
  Pray for women, young girls and children who are at risk.
  May this extremely desperate situation lead many to salvation in Christ.
• Pray for Afghan refugees desperately fleeing the new regime and ending up in different parts of the world.
• Pray for God’s divine intervention to restore peace and stability, restrain evil, stop violence and confuse the plans of militants.
• Pray for the light of Jesus to shine in Afghanistan and bring real peace and prosperity.
• Pray for women and girls as they face oppression: girls cannot go to school and women cannot go to work (women can work only in health care and education).
• Pray for the livelihood of Afghan people: The Taliban have cut salaries in half and most government workers have not received a salary for months.
  Millions live in desperate poverty and added to the shortage of money, food and medicine, there is now famine.
