Persecution
Spiritual Food for Thought
Whenever a person claims they’re being persecuted, it’s not always a sign of how strong their “faith” is.
Sometimes people are “persecuted” (attacked, ridiculed, targeted) because of their lack of wisdom, discernment, and even love.
If you kick a hornet’s nest and then get stung, can one really claim persecution? The answer is no.
No matter how people try to portray Christ, the truth is, Jesus never went out trying to start trouble.
He came to fulfill a promise and bring clarity of Truth (which was rejected) during a time when a way (Torah) had been tainted.
The same occurred with the first-century church, of which produced thousands of martyrs.
However, we never read that they were rioting, protesting, nor provoking people to kill them.
They simply came into a faith that could not be stomped out.
This is happening today in countries across Africa, the Middle East, and the Orient: people being wiped out for their faith in Christ, yet, those opposed can’t seem to put the fire (Ruach Kodesh) out.
We never hear about them yelling, screaming, rioting, protesting, or even complaining.
Yet, here in the west, people’s arrogance has blinded them into lacking temperance (self-control), patience, mercy, and love.
Emotionally driven and impulsive, they provoke people to anger instead of drawing them in.
Then suffer the consequences of their foolish ways, yet claim they’re suffering for The LORD.
There is no reward [in heaven] for this.
The truth is, the western Christian doesn’t know real persecution. Most would not stand and continue to speak truth while being stoned (like Stephen). Instead, most would defend themselves, their platforms, and reputation.
In this final season, we must ask The LORD for:
- Discernment : to be able to know our surroundings and understand what spirit is operating (truth or familiar).
- Wisdom : to know how and when to respond and act accordingly.
- Knowledge : of how The LORD wants to manifest His will in our lives and the lives of others.
Above all, we MUST walk in [His] Love. Because without Love, we are empty vapors, and clanging symbols that only produce vanities.
