Performance Repentance by Leaders
I’m sitting here this morning thinking, after a night of laying before the LORD receiving instructions and more directions. The Spirit of the LORD begin to deal with me about the leadership again.
He spoke and said many leaders that have been caught and sin or uncover in the iniquities have not truly repented in their hearts, but they gave the people a PERFORMANCE REPENTANCE!
They stood before them and put forth a act of sorrow for their actions, but never turned from their wrongful acts and never stopped doing what they claim they were repenting for.
He said, many continue on because the actions of the people open their eyes to how naive the people could be, by them just using tears and the right words. These persons, especially if they were popular with the people, received applause and support rather than correction and discipline by strong stable leaders who were full of wisdom that should have given them spiritual advice and helped them get deliverance.], instead of leadership confronting them about their sinful ways they supported them with more open doors and more financial support, because they brought gain to many of their ministries.
Seasoned leadership have a responsibility to help govern the Body of Christ so that wolves in the pulpit false prophets and apostles and false teachers of the word will not fleece or destroy the sheep.
They should also be able to confront sinful issues not only in leaders but also in the sheep.
This generation of leaders are to lenient when it comes to sin and they lack the ability to boldly stand against those that walk contrary to the word and ways of God. They have become tolerant of sin and close their eyes to the ungodly behavior of those whom they consider have clout in the Body of Christ.
We address those persons we consider as nobodies, discrediting them, telling the people to shun them, but yet remain respectable toward the celebrity preachers who have done the same thing.
The Bible says, These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment. He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him: But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them, Proverbs 24:23-25.
We are to judge righteously lest the judgment of those that we have come into agreement with their sin also come upon our life. And yes people we are to make people accountable for their actions that causes the people to turn away from their LORD and to serve sin.
Those in leadership must know that they are responsible to lead by example and not to think that they can just do what they want and we are to accept their actions and turn blind eyes and ears to those things they do that are contrary to God’s will and ways.
It’s time to make those that are practicing sin know that we are requiring them to change their ways or move out the way so that those that are living righteous can come forth and lead the people into holiness!
