Passing the Pain Test
Are we prepared to serve God when Satan spew on us his darkest onslaught on what he says “skin for skin”?
Job testing was first in his possessions; including the children he had. All these disappeared in inexplicable circumstances, because his truthfulness about God was on test.
Satan thought Job would curse God, on the other hand, God risked Job out for the worst and gave him opportunity to prove his love for Him, which he did.
Our testing can take many turns. Humans are subjected to testing in all manners, just like Job, whose possessions were touched and then later, Satan returned to touch his skin and his bone.
Man loves his life. He can do everything to defend it, and in that testing, it is easy to lose faith and turn to Satan for false freedom. When it comes to “skin for skin”….. people have cursed God.
I know of those who genuinely served God through it all. They were loyal to God! But later when Satan came for their flesh, they wearied, only later to trade their relationship with God for magic and witchcraft.
Because of sickness, they struggled with an attempt to get well.
Spiritual attacks for humans become most fearful when the body is disabled.
Wait until the core of life is attacked in physical essence! Man, no matter how great they are, return to this mundane nature, to his own ways and to self help.
Abraham betrayed his wife to save his life. David forsook his sanity to save his life. Peter denied Jesus to save his own life.
There is certainly some truth to the statement, “all that a man has, he will give for his life”
“Touch his bone and his flesh, and he will surely curse You to Your face!” Job 2:4-5.
Satan insisted that if the attack were made against Job directly – if some calamity came upon Job’s body – then Job would certainly curse God.
Pain can weaken our faith and make everything look and feel worse than it really is. More than one person has withstood tragedy, only to fall apart under the onslaught of pain.
It is the devil’s perpetual estimate of humanity that flesh is supreme, but for God our body is one thing that we should give to him, lose it for his sake, by this he knows those who are his.
And as He says, Mathew 10:39, He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for my sake will find it.
Job found a renewed life. He was unwilling to trade it to Satan, and God came through for him. He was God’s best.
True Repentance is Gaining New Faith
Repentance is first routed from a complete heart transformation to love God, then translated to the way one lives in daily life.
If this repentance is short of public demonstration of change, then that would not be the correct position.
True repentance is gaining new faith to challenge old ways that you used to do and begin to do right things.
A person who really believes in God will have his belief confirmed by what he does regarding that belief.
If I say I have believed and lack works that overflow in support of what I say to be, then it is mere religious words to please.
Note also, that those who are repentant have courage for amends. They hate their past walk, but do not shy from it.
To them, God worked from that point to give them power over own decay. They live to testify what God has done for them.
It was the goodness of the LORD that worked repentance and renewed them to be what they today are habitually.
Reasons for Connecting
Now I know that people will come to you for reasons that as a person you never intended to be, that is why they connect with you.
Jesus fed some thousand through miraculous provisions. Much later, a bunch of them followed him in expectation to be fed. But Jesus knew their hearts and turned them away.
He did not use His available power to meet their needs. He reasoned that they should have been seeking Him for eternal provisions instead.
The LORD knows when we are in need and when we just want.
When you seek a man of God, consider him as one who points to you to the eternal perspective of life. Any other of your requirement will be performed through him as per your faith and as the LORD wills.
As a preacher of good things, of repentance, and one insisting and challenging to holiness, there are those who will come to you because they tend to appear “safe” around you.
I believe it is so, because they probably have heard about your stand on some issues on which that the modern Christian fall prey.
Once you declare you are this manner of uncompromising preacher, they tread carefully and will even come to you as those been “transformed”.
Soon you will realize that they too are in the category of those in need of perishable “bread” that you are unable to offer.
To them, preaching the Cross, the Blood of Christ and Repentance equals mere idle talk, not that which is inspired revelation and and that of which God requires of them a corresponding agreement.
They will soon leave your circle, because they value the physical, above the eternal.
Shalom,
