“And it will come about in the last days. That the mountain of the house of the Lord Will be established as the chief of the mountains. It will be raised above the hills, And the peoples will stream to it. Many nations will come and say, “Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord And to the house of the God of Jacob, That He may teach us about His ways And that we may walk in His paths.” For from Zion will go forth the law, Even the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. And He will judge between many peoples And render decisions for mighty, distant nations. Then they will hammer their swords into plowshares And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation will not lift up sword against nation, And never again will they train for war,” Micah 4:1-3.

A plowshare is a tool used for breaking-up the soil and for getting it ready to be cultivated. Farmers have used this type of implement for hundreds and even thousands of years, so that the soil might be prepared, and for their crops to be planted. In the spiritual sense, the weapons of war will eventually be replaced with the peaceful means of a farming tool.

The time will come when we will beat our swords into plowshares. Eventually, all wars will cease, and peace will fill the land. Eventually, all of the horrific shootings that have happened in our schools, churches, movie theaters, and elsewhere, will come to an end. We are told that the lion will lay down with the lamb. Every man will sit under his own vine and fig tree, and no one will make him afraid, for fear will have been vanished.

But in the meantime, we must experience much turmoil in the world around us. The prophetic time table must continue its course. Wars and rumors of wars, will continue. In the meantime, false prophets and teachers will come and go and deceive many. The false prophet and the beast will work in tandem with the one who is doomed for perdition, and much of the world will fall prey to their deceptions and control. But eventually, all these things will come to an end.

And then the mountain of the house of the LORD will be established. It will be exalted above all else, and many will come to that great mountain and hear the word of the LORD. He shall judge among the people, and all weapons shall be laid at his feet. We shall not worry about our rights and any amendments that declare of those rights, for He shall govern and rule the nations with great wisdom and sovereignty.

All those who have mourned and have been afflicted, will be gathered unto him. Those that thought their king had perished or was not to be found, will find him in their midst, and the remnant will be called forth. Those that were cast off, will become a strong nation and will reign as kings and priests for ever.

The birth pangs and travails will have ceased, and we shall dwell in the land in safety and peace. For new heavens and a new earth will have been created. The former things will have been forgotten – in fact, they will not even come to mind.

Weeping and sorrow will have ceased, and death will have been vanquished. Our labor will not be in vain, and others shall not dwell or inhabit, where we are planted. And before we even call unto the LORD; will He answer; and even while we are yet speaking, shall He hear.

So shall it come…
