Our God Will Heal and Mend!
3 Words in 1
Go Out on a Limb!
Hundreds, or even thousands of people lined the street that day in Jericho.
They all saw Jesus with their own eyes, but only one man came “face to Face” with Jesus.
His life was never the same again. This man’s name was Zacchaeus. He reached out to Jesus by literally “going out on a limb” for Him.
If you want to see Jesus, come “face to Face”, you move into position, you show that hunger and desperation.
Don’t stop after even just a glimpse! Don’t be distracted!
Just like Zacchaeus, sometimes you have to go out on a limb!
(Isa.59:1) “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:”
He will walk right up to the tree where you are perched in your situation and call out your name. Struggles have simmered under the lid of your heart for quite a while; Seems like the heat keeps getting added to the point of a boil over. You need that quieting of your conflicted heart in the midst of these battles. The Lord knows where you are, He knows your heart, and He is able to help you regardless of what that stronghold is.
“She went out on a limb, had it break off behind her, and realized she could fly!”
John the Baptist
John the Baptist was not a reed shaken by the wind.
He was not weak. He was not a man who yielded to popular opinion nor was he moved by it. He was not one who always went with the wind and the tide.
He came with a Word from God and he delivered it, even at the cost of his life.
It was because he dared to stand up before the king and his wife and rebuked the adultery in which they lived, that he was imprisoned.
He was a Prophet, a great Prophet, because he came with The Word from The LORD and he delivered it exactly as God gave it to him.
He not only spoke The Word of The LORD to the rulers in their corruption and wickedness; but he also delivered it to the people, saying,
“Repent ye, for the kingdom of God is at hand….” Matthew 3:2 emphasis added.
“I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of The LORD….’” John 1:23 emphasis added.
I can just hear John saying these very words with such passion and intensity.
He was the forerunner, but he did not see Christ in the fullness of His Resurrection.
The difference was that John was still on the other side of Calvary and the empty tomb. We are on the side of The Cross and the resurrection. We have the full revelation of Our King and advancing His Kingdom!
Lift up your eyes and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest. Where are the labourers!
