Our Father’s Birthright to Us
There are so many things to be thankful for when it comes to our relationship with our Heavenly Father. Yet the one that is on my heart today is the invitation to approach Him with our failures and shortcomings.
No matter how many times we fail, no matter how many times we stumble, no matter how many times we skin up our knees, we are invited to run back into His loving arms!
The enemy of our souls points to our shortcomings as the very reason that He will not take us back. Yet our Father shows us the cross where His Son paid the ultimate price and says, “Don’t listen to that liar. No matter how many times you fall, if you reach out to Me, you’ll find that I AM right there!”
There is no need to run away. There is no need to hide in shame. We all fall short of His glory. We all miss the mark. These are the pivotal questions:
Will you trust Him to overcome the disparity between His perfection and your imperfection?
Will you trust fully that the blood of Jesus is sufficient to cover the stains of your inequity?
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness,” 1 John 1:9.
What other father gives such a birthright to his children?
