“Open Your Mouth Wide, And I Will Fill It!”
Some weeks ago, I opened my Bible to study….
Suddenly, my eyes were opened by The LORD to pursue an understanding of a phrase in a verse. (By His Grace of discernment, I readily sense when He is beckoning, immensely drawing me with lovingkindness to show me something). And so I yielded with diligent and studious curiosity.
This was what I read:
“And seeing the multitudes, He [Jesus] went up on a mountain, and when He was seated His disciples came to Him. Then He opened His Mouth and taught them…” Matthew 5:1-2 emphasis added.
“He opened His Mouth and taught them…” If He taught them (by speaking), I thought to myself, surely He must have opened His Mouth to do so….
Why then was it necessary for The Holy Spirit to state that Jesus opened His Mouth?
The Holy Spirit does not speak with superfluity. Every Word, every Phrase, every Sentence He says is life-giving necessary, and thus has endlessly GREAT significance from The Divine Mouth to us.
Indeed, we are COMMANDED to live by every Word that proceeds from The Mouth of GOD. (Ah! “Mouth” again).
My eyes were off the page by now, and looking straight ahead across the room. “He opened His Mouth and taught them…” I muttered, with the eyes of my understanding looking for the certain Treasure from The Mouth of God.
Immediately, other “opened his mouth” Scriptures started flooding my mental recall.
I hurried to check and confirm. There they are!: the same phrase repeated in all.
“Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him [the eunuch].” Acts 8:35 emphasis added.
“Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.” Acts 10:34 emphasis added.
Hm… LORD, we are digging for something marvelous here. And it is very significant.
But what is it?
Immediately, The Word thundered in the speech centre of my brain.
“Open your mouth wide and I will fill….” Psalm 81:10.
Aha! That’s it. ‘Eureka!’ I have found it!
What The Holy Spirit was teaching me from the opened His/ his mouth statements in The Bible is that we must open our mouth for GOD to fill it and to use! And we must open our mouth for GOD to feed us with His Blessing.
But, the ability to open our mouth for GOD to fill and feed can only be by GOD.
This is why Paul asked for prayers from the brethren, saying:
“…. meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for The Word, to speak The Mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains, that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.” Colossians 4:3-4 emphasis added.
And GOD made the point to Moses when he doubted his oratorical abilities, saying, “O my LORD, I am not eloquent… I am slow of speech and slow of tongue.” (Exodus 4:10).
But The LORD aptly retorted, “Who has made man’s mouth?…Have not I, The LORD? Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say….” (Exodus 4:11-12).
We must also have our mouth cleansed by The Fire of GOD exactly as Isaiah needed and received when he saw The Glory of The LORD Jesus Christ , (John 12:41).
“In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw The LORD sitting on a Throne, high and lifted up, and The Train of His Robe filled The Temple. Above it stood seraphim; each one had six wings: with two he covered his face, with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew. And one cried to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is The LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of His Glory!” And the posts of the door were shaken by the voice of him who cried out, and the house was filled with smoke. So I said: “Woe is me, for I am undone! Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen The King, The LORD of hosts.” Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having in his hand a Live Coal which he had taken with The Tongs from The Altar. And he touched my mouth with it, and said: “Behold, this has touched your lips; Your iniquity is taken away, And your sin purged.” Isaiah 6:1-7.
Indeed, Romans 6:18 says to “present your members as instruments [weapons] of righteousness to GOD…”
So, present your mouth for GOD to cleanse. Open your mouth for GOD to fill. Open your mouth for GOD to use. And, oh yes, open your mouth for GOD to FEED you!
When some babies don’t want to eat, they tightly close their mouths. They think they don’t need the food. But their parents know they must eat to live.
We must not be like such babies. Our GOD has so much to feed us with. So much BLESSING of super-abundance meant and purposed for us at this time — “the times of restoration of all things…” (Acts 3:21).
For GOD to feed and fill you, you must:
● Open your mouth and Ask!
Open your mouth and ask for The Blessing of The LORD with The Understanding and Utterance of The Holy Spirit.
When praying, always ask The LORD to help you with The Understanding and Utterance of The Holy Spirit. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but The Spirit helps us to say what we naturally cannot, (Romans 8:26).
Open your mouth and ask for all that GOD has determined and purposed for you, (2 Timothy 1:9; Acts 17:26).
“Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for Your possession.” Psalm 2:8.
As The LORD said, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father Who is in Heaven give good things to those who ask Him!” Matthew 7:7-11.
“So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in GOD. For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. “And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in Heaven may also forgive you your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in Heaven forgive your trespasses.” Mark 11:22-26.
So, by Help of The Holy Spirit, ask; doubting nothing. And keep on asking until you have it in your hands.
(A false doctrine is taught by some, that, if you ask more than once you are not in faith. This is a doctrine of demons.
Paul said, “Concerning this thing I pleaded with The LORD three times…” (2 Corinthians 12:8). So, he repeated his prayer.
In Gethsemane, The LORD Himself repeated His prayer; for He “prayed the third time, saying the same Words.” (Matthew 26:39-44).
And He told us to also keep asking GOD with desperation: “And shall GOD not avenge His own elect who cry out day and night to Him, though He bears long with them?” (Luke 18:7 emphasis added).
“Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of The Heavenly Calling,” (Hebrews 3:1), keep asking and never give up.
● Open your mouth and Receive!
To be able to eat food, you must open your mouth and receive it.
In Christ Jesus, whenever led by The Holy Spirit, one must take prophetic action for prophetic manifestation. (See Ezekiel 12 and Revelation 18:21 for examples).
Therefore, prophetically, look up to Heaven right now, then open your mouth wide (literally) and tell The LORD to fill it as The Scripture has said. Say: “Feed me, LORD! Fill me, LORD!”
Ask for The Kingdom and receive The Kingdom — all things of The Kingdom.
As The LORD said, “it is your Father’s Good Pleasure to give you The Kingdom.“ (Luke 12:32).
Now is the time to possess The Kingdom. Therefore, open your mouth and ask. Open your mouth and receive.
“I was watching; and the same horn was making war against the saints, and prevailing against them, until The Ancient of Days came, and a Judgment was made in favor of the saints of The Most High, and the time came for the saints to possess The Kingdom.” Daniel 7:21-22.
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.
“Farewell” Acts 15:29.
~ Jacob Awagah
Jacob, an apostle of Jesus Christ by The Will of God, according to The Promise of Life which is in Christ Jesus, (2 Timothy 1:1). As John was, Jacob is the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20). And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
“And having been perfected, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
We are in the decade of the Pey , hebrew word for mouth.
So let us open our mouth for The Lord to fill it and let us declare and decree his words over ourselves, our familes, our nations, the church and the world.
Bless you brother.
