Open Their Eyes LORD!
The Holy Spirit gave me this word from 2 Kings 6. When the king of Syria was planning to attack Israel, Elisha sent a warning to him because as a true prophet and seer, the LORD revealed the plans of the enemy to him.
The king of Syria didn’t understand how Elisha could know all his schemes and strategies. He called his officers together and asked them if they were revealing his secrets to Elisha.
One of the officers replied: No but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the very words that you speak in your bedroom. The king of Syria then wanted to capture Elisha so he sent horses and chariots and strong forces against him.
They went by night and surrounded the city. Elisha’s servant was terrified and he asked Elisha, What will we do now? Elisha responded: “Don’t be afraid, Those who are with us are more than those who are with them,” and Elisha prayed, “Open his eyes LORD, so that he may see.”
Then the LORD opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire, and was able to see the spiritual armies of protection all around Elisha.
Some of you could only see the darkness that seems to be encamped around you and the enemy seems to be gaining ground. You are magnifying the situations in your lives which seem impossible to change in the natural.
You may be going through a financial crisis, a family crisis or a serious illness. The armies which are rising up against you seem overwhelming, but the LORD says, “There are more with you, than against you.”
Jesus is going to open your eyes to see the hosts of heaven that are so much greater than the armies of the adversary. I have recently been diagnosed with a terminal illness for the third time, but last week I received a good report.
I am now coming out victoriously once again. The past three years have been horrendous and it appeared as if I was totally defeated, but I continually drew from the well deep down inside of me.
I had the word of God stored up in my heart. The word of God is alive and we should be in awe when we read it.
The LORD is saying to fear not. He has created the heavens and the earth and there is nothing that is impossible for Him to do, (Romans 8:11) But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (If you have accepted Jesus in your heart)
“The silver and the gold are Mine,” says the LORD. “The earth is Mine and everything in it, and all who dwell within. I founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.
As you ask Me for wisdom and to open your eyes, I will open the eyes of your understanding to recognize My protection, My provision and My direction for your life,” says the LORD.
“So he answered, “Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” And Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.” Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha,” 2 Kings 6:16-17.
“Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war arise against me, yet I will be confident,” Psalm 27:3.
‘Ah, Lord God! It is you who have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and by your outstretched arm! Nothing is too hard for you,” Jeremiah 32:17.
