Only Jesus is Stable Ground!
In New Mexico out at Desert Zion it is lots of sand. Yes, and hard to find something solid like a rock big enough to be a foundation. There are many rocks of all kinds, some of the most beautiful in all the world, but there are no large rocks and when looking down the hill there is no large rock strata.
So where do you lay the foundations?
I know that what jesus meant when he taught the story about the man who built his house on sand was teaching a truth we must understand. It is not possible to stand on sand for long. The rain will wash it away quickly leaving a pile of rubble.
But what is impossible with men is possible with God! He can build, because He is the solid rock. Even if there is nothing but sand, The LORD can be the foundation.
Make sure your house is built upon Jesus not men [sand].
If you look at the picture of the sand posted with this word, you will see all sorts of beautiful small rocks. This is what sand looks like under a microscope. There are many men who think they are good for foundations but we know better; Jesus is the huge rock who offers safe harbor.
The one who is upon jesus will remain, but, those who build upon men and mens opinions will perish. You can trust Jesus Christ for a firm foundation, but men will fail you.
“So everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them, will be like a wise man [a far-sighted, practical, and sensible man] who built his house on the rock. and the rain fell, and the floods and torrents came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them, will be like a foolish (stupid) man who built his house on the sand. And the rain fell, and the floods and torrents came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell — and great and complete was its fall,” Matthew 7:24-27.

LORD, help us get out of the way so men can see the solid rock and build upon it! Help me point the way to the sure foundation. And warn about sinking sand…
Picture is “Sand” magnified…..
The point is, you must look close to make sure of where you build. Building upon so many “Small rocks” will be sinking sand.
