Job 40-42 Amplified Bible (AMP)

“¹ Moreover, the Lord said to Job,
² Shall he who would find fault with the Almighty contend with Him? He who disputes with God, let him answer it.
³ Then Job replied to the Lord:
⁴ Behold, I am of small account and vile! What shall I answer You? I lay my hand upon my mouth.
⁵ I have spoken once, but I will not reply again — indeed, twice [have I answered], but I will proceed no further.
⁶ Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, saying,
⁷ Gird up your loins now like a man; I will demand of you, and you answer Me.”

Remember with me the story of Job and all his problems?

Job did find himself in a lot of trouble having lost everything. It did appear that God had turned against Job, but if you remember that even when his wife had finally told Job.. Why not just curse God and die? Job did say back to her, I came into this word naked and I can leave here naked. But I WILL NOT CURSE GOD AND DIE.

COULD YOU SAY JOB WAS ON THE BOTTOM? Well yes, I believe you could. Yet in this very position, Job would NOT curse God. HE WAS THROUGH TALKING BACK.

There may be someone reading this short message that is NOT LIKE JOB. It could be YOU HAVE QUESTIONED GOD.. EVEN NOW CONTENDING WITH HIM. AND YET… YOUR STILL TALKING LOUD AND UGLY. Just today I talked with a man who said, THROUGH IT ALL GOD HAS FORSAKEN ME. He then went on to say a number of bad things about God. I told him he needed to repent of that attitude and BEGIN TO PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS CIRCUMSTANCES.

Then the man said, I WILL NOT PRAY! He then told me THIS WILL BE THE LAST TIME I TALK TO YOU.

Well HE IS NOW ON THE BOTTOM…. FOR SURE! When you are on the Bottom THERE IS NOWHERE ELSE TO GO BUT UP. You can only proceed forward by going UP. God did know that when that man would be there on his backside… he would have to look up.

Sounds rough doesn’t it. Do you mean that God might bring one that Low just so He can look up?

Yes. I believe that it can happen. Matter of a Fact, IT DID HAPPEN TO ME. In 1999 I found myself on the BOTTOM, and I mean on the bottom. I had lost it all. I lost my wife, I lost my Family. I could not make a living. I lost all my friends. I lost my job and could not even sell any of my sculptures. I WAS ON MY WAY OF LOSING MY ENTIRE MIND…. IT SEEMED ALL HEAVEN WAS CLOSED.

At that moment, I FOUND MYSELF LOOKING UP. I want to report that in 1999 I FOUND OUT JUST WHO GOD IS.

In the verses above it says, THEN GOD ANSWERED JOB OUT OF THE WHIRLWIND. Then He told Job to answer him LIKE A MAN. I get the picture that GOD WAS SAYING…JOB IT IS NOW TIME TO GROW UP. Have you ever heard God Speak out of a Whirlwind? When you do, you will find yourself on another level.

Job had earlier even contended with God. In what way, someone ask? Well Job did complain that he had ever even been born. He said it would have been better had my Mother never conceived me. He did put his mouth on the fact that he was most miserable and unhappy with his circumstances. It is true that Job did complain. But, he would not go so far as to CURSE GOD. He stopped short of that at least. Instead he just COMPLAINED and gripped…. even had some bad thoughts about God.

SOMEONE MAY BE COMPLAINING EVEN NOW OVER THEIR CIRCUMSTANCES. It seems like God has left you all alone and has let the enemy destroy your very life savings, taking away your happiness. It may appear, even be true that you find yourself in the BOTTOM OF A HOLE.

What to do now?

LOOK UP AND PRAISE GOD FOR THE HOLE. Tell God just how much you love him. When you do that, I BELIEVE GOD WILL LIFT YOU.

It is like…. TWILIGHT ZONE… (that old series on TV)… Men would find themselves in ANOTHER ZONE. The Zone was ANOTHER DIMENSION.

Well, PRAISE GOD AND YOU WILL BE IN….. TWILIGHT ZONE. ANOTHER DIMENSION OR ZONE!

When you get so Low, there is nowhere else to go… YOU WILL GO INTO THE GOD ZONE.

It is better now, friends, to PRAISE GOD…. IN YOUR LOW CIRCUMSTANCES…. AND WALK IN HIS DIMENSION THAN TO SPEAK AGAIN IN CONDEMNATION…. AND COMPLAIN….. AND FIND THERE IS NOWHERE TO GO. Remember how the Children of Israel did wander in the Desert for forty years? They could tell this story too. Like Job they got to the place where they did say to God,

“Behold, I am of small account and vile! What shall I answer You? I lay my hand upon my mouth. I have spoken once, but I will not reply again—indeed, twice [have I answered], but I will proceed no further.”

When you get to their place, both Job and The Children in the Wilderness, YOU TOO WILL KNOW.

It is a very humbling position to be in for sure… IT IS NOT THE TIME TO SPEAK BACK TO GOD! IT IS TIME TO LAY YOUR HAND ON… YOUR MOUTH! IT IS A TIME TO PRAISE GOD AND AGREE WITH GOD. There is NOBODY ELSE TO TALK TO. God alone in that position is YOUR ONLY WAY OUT.

One thing for sure, THEY DID HEAR GOD SPEAK! When does God Speak then? ANSWER. When you stop talking and start listening. Some of you have been complaining about not hearing Him Speak….. LAY YOUR HAND ON YOUR MOUTH…
