OH FOOLISH ONES!
There is one Scriptural Story given that expresses this age right before the Bridegroom breaks forth for his special Bride. There is a clear indication in the Scripture and the Lord has not left us to wonder, EXACTLY what it will be that will cause him away from some FIFTY PERCENT of the people who profess his name. He is coming, and coming quickly, but His desire is for a BRIDE WHO IS CLEAN AND BEAUTIFUL. He is looking for THOSE SPECIAL ONES… He is longing to enter the eternal ages of marital bliss and loving association with the BRIDE OF HIS CHOICE ONES.
The Story is found in Matthew 25:1-10….. I will write it her for all to read again. Read it with HIS HEART IN MIND… IN THE DAYS SHORTLY BEFORE HE COMES FOR HIS SPECIAL BRIDE. Has there ever been a passage of Scripture that speaks so DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH IN THIS VERY TIME:
Matthew 25: 1-13 (Amplified Bible)
“1 Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom.
2 Five of them were foolish (thoughtless, without forethought) and five were wise (sensible, intelligent, and prudent).
3 For when the foolish took their lamps, they did not take any [extra] oil with them; 4 But the wise took flasks of oil along with them [also] with their lamps.
5 While the bridegroom lingered and was slow in coming, they all began nodding their heads, and they fell asleep. 6 But at midnight there was a shout, Behold, the bridegroom! Go out to meet him!
7 Then all those virgins got up and put their own lamps in order. 8 And the foolish said to the wise, Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.
9 But the wise replied, There will not be enough for us and for you; go instead to the dealers and buy for yourselves.
10 But while they were going away to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were prepared went in with him to the marriage feast; and the door was shut.
11 Later the other virgins also came and said, Lord, Lord, open [the door] to us!
12 But He replied, I solemnly declare to you, I do not know you [I am not acquainted with you].
13 Watch therefore [give strict attention and be cautious and active], for you know neither the day nor the hour when the Son of Man will come.”
Notice the description given of who the TEN VIRGINS WERE.
Very clearly it says they were VIRGINS. A virgin is one who is pure. But hear further the Dictionary Definition of a Virgin:
vir·gin (vûrjn)n.
1. A person who has not experienced sexual intercourse. 2. A chaste or unmarried woman; a maiden. 3. An unmarried woman who has taken religious vows of chastity.
Oh my, please get this and understand this. They were NOT MADE UP OF THOSE WHO SOME WERE NOT SAVED AND SOME WHO WERE SAVED. He was NOT coming looking for SAVED ONES. No. He would be coming looking for SPECIAL ONES AMONG THE SAVED. This is a MOST IMPORTANT POINT to understand. Thus I labor to point it out. HE WAS TALKING ABOUT THE SAVED AND THOSE WHO HAD BEEN CLEANSED IN HIS BLOOD AND MADE VIRGIN. Did not Jesus say, IF YOU ARE CLEAN, YOU ARE EVERY WIT WHOLE. Jesus did CLEANS US OF ALL OUR SIN.. and he has made us ACCEPTED. Not only are we ACCEPTED, WE ARE JUSTIFIED (just as if we had never sinned). So …. WE ARE CLEAN.
Do you understand by this description that the Lord is coming and looking for those who are COMPLETELY SET ASIDE FOR HIM AND HIM ALONE. He is talking here of the ones who have NOT PLAYED AROUND WITH THEIR LOVE FOR HIM. It is like a man engaged. He wants that one to be ONLY FOR HIM. He desires one who has NO ROOM FOR ANYONE ELSE. I see his heart here in this story and understand he is NOT LOOKING FOR JUST ANYONE… he is looking for one who is FOR HIM AND HIM ALONE. Please note that this story given here says ALL 10 WERE VIRGINS. This means that ALL OF THEM WERE CLEAN AND PURE. BUT… NOT ALL WERE READY TO BE BRIDES.
Those who say that the story Jesus Gave was about …. THOSE WHO WILL BE SAVED OR LOST …. have MISSED THE POINT ALTOGETHER. It is clearly seen in this description of the Virgins that they ALL BELONGED TO GOD AND WERE SAVED, CLEANSED… AND WAITING FOR THE BRIDEGROOM.
I would like to point out as well they ALL HAD LAMPS WITH OIL… because it says the five foolish virgins were watching their lamps go out. The pure fact that they were LIGHT BEARERS… does speak of the Christian being one who LETS THE LIGHT SHINE. And if you study the TYPES in the Old Testament… OIL SPEAKS ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT. They had Oil, OR THEY DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH.
The story about NOT HAVING ENOUGH OIL speaks directly to the fact that MANY WILL NOT HAVE “ALL” THE HOLY SPIRIT POWER AVAILABLE. It is very plain to Bible Students that the BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT does FOLLOW or COME AFTER…. salvation. One first gets born again or saved, than later receives the Holy Spirit Power (Acts 8:14-17).
I am not saying anyone can be saved and not have the Holy Spirit, because ALL ARE SEALED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT OF PROMISE upon Salvation itself (Ephesians 1:13-14). Not only are all sealed with the Holy Spirit, but all are placed into the Body of Christ by the Holy Spirit and made to drink into one Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:13).
So this tells us the Virgins were SPIRITUAL. They were NO LOST among them. They were ALL SAVED.
Than they ALL WERE LOOKING FOR THE BRIDEGROOM TO COME. This means they were all waiting for Jesus to come back to the Earth. A lost person is NOT LOOKING for Jesus to COME BACK; they who are lost do not care. So we see these were believers. The only difference between the five foolish and the five wise was that the foolish were NOT SERIOUSLY PREPARED OR LOOKING. Many saved ones today are talking about Jesus coming back, but ARE NOT LOOKING EXPECTANTLY THAT HE WILL COME TODAY.
The Foolish WERE PLAYING AROUND and messing with the World. They were NOT HAVING A SERIOUS RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS. Now we know that the Scripture says or admonishes us all to WATCH AND WAIT. But there were bible examples of many who were saved but WERE NOT READY. This is what was going on with the Foolish ones.
CONCLUSION:
Many today are thinking wrong things about the story of the 10 Virgins. They are thinking that some are MERE PROFESSORS and that when Jesus comes the PROFESSORS will be separated from the POSSESSORS. They are saying the saved will be the Wise ones, and the Foolish were really lost all along. This is not a honest interpretation of this passage of scripture.
There is a reason why many do not want to say all Ten were Saved. The reason is they do not want to think that God would reject the foolish and cause them to go through the wrathful days of the Tribulation. They want to say ALL WILL ESCAPE JUDGMENT. I wish this were true, but to be honest with scripture, one must see that (in this case of the 10 Virgins….) one half (1/2) of all who were saved WILL BE LEFT BEHIND.
The FOOLISH will NOT BE LOST just because they were not taken up with the Wise… but they will come later after the tribulation days. The story says they will try to get into the same event as the five Wise, coming later, and the Lord says I KNOW YOU NOT. That does not mean he has never meet them or does not know them, but the Greek words show meaning to say they were not FAMILIAR or that they DID NOT HAVE A SPIRITUAL RELATIONSHIP IN THE DAILY LIFE. The Amplified Bible says: “[I am not acquainted with you].” Many will be like that. ONLY SAVE… BUT WITHOUT A SPIRITUAL HOLY CONNECTION WITH THE SAVIOR.
It appears to me that THEY WILL NOT BE IN THE BRIDE OR FIRSTFRUITS of those who are the Lords, but they will be saved when Jesus Comes in the Revelation (the day he returns to earth AFTER the days of great tribulation). The Scriptures give the order of the Resurrections in 1 Corinthians 15:22-25,
“22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.
24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.”
Notice: it says Christ the Firstfruits than afterward…. THEY THAT ARE CHRIST’S AT HIS COMING. This is definitely two. Firstfruits… than they who who are HIS AT HIS COMING… (AFTER THE TRIBULATION IS OVER).
Now I will give further evidence that the FOOLISH will be yet saved…
Revelation 20:1-4 (KJV),
“And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, 3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
CAUTION:
DO NOT BE ONE WHO IS MISLED TO BELIEVE ALL CHRISTIANS WILL ESCAPE… THE GREAT TRIBULATION IN A RAPTURE. This is false teaching. MANY WILL ESCAPE, but…
MANY WILL SUFFER AND EVEN DIE AT THE HANDS OF THE ANTICHRIST… JUST BECAUSE THEY WILL REFUSE HIS MARK IN THEIR HAND OR FOREHEAD, AND WILL NOT QUIT PREACHING THE TRUTH DURING THE TRIBULATION.

Romans 7:13-25 New King James Version (NKJV)
Law Cannot Save from Sin
13 Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not! But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me through what is good, so that sin through the commandment might become exceedingly sinful. 14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin. 15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. 16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. 17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. 18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. 19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. 20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
