Obtaining The Glory of JESUS — That’s How BIG The Gospel Is
Line by line, precept upon precept, THE LORD’s Prayer to THE FATHER in John 17 is LOADED with endless revelations about GOD and The Gospel.
One such revelation is THE LORD’s Report to THE FATHER that “The Glory Which You gave Me I have given them, that they may be one just as We are One,” (John 17:22).
What! THE LORD JESUS has given us His Glory?
Yes. That’s right. He has indeed.
We in CHRIST JESUS are that much exceedingly privileged. We are actually saved for the obtaining of The Glory of CHRIST.
Paul confirmed this, and says we are bound to give thanks for it.
“But we are bound to give thanks to GOD always for you, brethren beloved by THE LORD, because GOD from the beginning chose you for Salvation through Sanctification by THE SPIRIT and belief in The Truth, to which He called you by our Gospel, for the obtaining of The Glory of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.” 2 Thessalonians 2:13-14.
We are chosen by GOD for the obtaining of The Glory of our LORD JESUS CHRIST.
Really and truly, does this not elicit endless thanksgiving if one considers the sheer scale and seriousness of it?
THE GOD OF GLORY, THE KING OF GLORY, THE LORD OF GLORY has given us His Glory; and GOD has chosen us for the obtaining of this Glory!
This IS The Gospel – obtaining The Glory of our LORD JESUS CHRIST; hence It is called “The Gospel of The Glory of CHRIST” (2 Corinthians 4:4).
When we seek and pursue obtaining The Glory of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, we will reign in life through Him GLORIOUSLY.
Philippians 4:13 is not a cute Christian slogan to say. It is a POWER-loaded Word of GOD to grasp and glory in with results: “I can do all things through CHRIST Who strengthens me.”
THE LORD Himself said:
“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, The Works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to MY FATHER.” John 14:12.
True to His Words, the apostles and others did The Works THE LORD did, and even greater.
Peter’s shadow healed the sick, and handkerchiefs from the body of Paul healed the sick and evil spirits went out of them.
A similar trend is increasingly occurring in The Church today, and will intensify in the coming days, weeks, months and years as the earth is filled with The Knowledge of The Glory of THE LORD – just as Habakkuk prophesied.
As in obtaining an undergraduate degree, a student can study to get First Class, Second Class (Upper and Lower divisions) or Third class (in British classification), so in obtaining The Glory of our LORD JESUS CHRIST one can study to get any of The Rewards of our LORD and Teacher, JESUS CHRIST, (Matthew 23:8) at His Coming.
The Rewards are His Riches in Glory, The Riches of His Glory.
The Class of Rewards (the type and level of The Riches) one will get then is determined by one’s obedience now, as was the case with the servants in The Parable of The Talents.
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to GOD, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing The Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15.
By diligently seeking, knowing and obeying THE LORD; by diligently knowing and doing The Will of THE LORD, one can obtain as much of The Glory of CHRIST as one desires.
“...And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take The Water of Life freely.” Revelation 22:17.
Obtaining The Glory of our LORD JESUS CHRIST is all about being conformed to His Image. This is what THE FATHER has purposed us to be.
“For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to The Image of His SON, that He might be The Firstborn among many brethren.” Romans 8:29.
Obtaining The Glory of GOD is observable and verifiable, as proven when Peter and John were put in custody, and the next day hauled before the Sanhedrin for preaching JESUS CHRIST.
“Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were uneducated and untrained men, they marveled. And they realised that they had been with JESUS.” Acts 4:13.
The most educated, trained, prominent and powerful men in the land (i.e. the rulers, elders, scribes, the high priest, and the family of the high priest — Acts 4:5-6), saw, perceived and realised that the two fishermen had been with JESUS.
Obtaining The Glory of CHRIST by believers, is unmistakably evident to their observers.
We must increasingly be transformed and conformed to His Image so much so that people can see, perceive and realise that we have been with JESUS.
By obtaining The Glory of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, we will know our GOD, be strong and do great exploits, and get great Rewards from Him in the life that now is and that which is to come.
By obtaining The Glory of our LORD JESUS CHRIST, life becomes GLORIOUS for us, no matter the darkness.
“Arise, shine; For your Light has come! And The Glory of THE LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and deep darkness the people; But THE LORD will arise over you, and His Glory will be seen upon you. The Gentiles shall come to your Light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.” Isaiah 60:1-3.
“The LORD Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Grace be with you. Amen.” 2 Timothy 4:22.

Like John, I like to put my head to The Heart of JESUS so as to know and do His Will always. What’s in His Heart is what matters now and FOREVER. His Heart’s Desire is my only desire.
As John was, I am the disciple whom JESUS loves, (John 13:23;19:26; 20:2; 21:7,20)
And like Paul, Jacob is “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS” (Ephesians 3:1) for His Purpose forever: to obey Him always.
NB. Surely, “the disciple whom JESUS loves” and “the prisoner of CHRIST JESUS”, like ALL The Promises of GOD, are available to every believer to obtain, just as John and Paul did.
“And having been perfected, He became The Author of Eternal Salvation to all who obey Him,” Hebrews 5:9.
