Obedience is a Key to Overcoming
Obedience is a key to overcoming the flesh nature.
Obedience comes from making a choice to choose with our own will to obey God/ His Spirit, and His Word.
Then we have to change any wrong mindsets that was planted in us by the enemy by replacing them with what The Word says, and then apply what it tells us to do. This is The Key to Overcoming.
When we apply The Word of God to our life, it is not our self righteousness, but rather His Righteousness that is being revealed in us. Which is our true identity.
While we may have overcome is some areas know that their is still many areas in which God is trying to work in us many good things of His nature and character and many things He is trying to work out of us all as well. No one I know of has reach perfection as of yet in all areas.
So, acknowledging our need to overcome in any area that may need to be addressed is first, then acknowledging we need Jesus/ Word to help us, is the second step in overcoming anything.
The third step is, we are to to be a doer of The Word, not a hearer only, deceiving our own selves.
So then, we have to apply what we learn and know by The Word of God and allow The Holy Spirit to help us walk it out by working with the both of them.
Then we will please God is that area. We have The Word of God and The Power of The Holy Spirit to help us to accomplish The Will of God, and walk it out on a daily basis in our own personal lives.
We make the choice each day to either “pacify” the flesh which means to cater to his desires and nature or we choose to “justify” it which is making provision and excuses for it, OR we make the choice to “crucify” it WITH OUR OWN WILL by using the tools God gave us to overcome that nature that we ALL were born with.
This also applies to any wrong mindset, or to whatever the enemy may have planted within us in our journey called life.
He does this in his evil attempts to steal from us, kill us, and destroy us!
The flesh nature is something everyone of us inherited through the fall of Adam and has to be overcome in one area or another and it is always contrary to God and selfish and sinful in nature.
That is why The Bible tells us we must crucify it, because while we are in the motions of the flesh carnal nature we will never please God.
The flesh wants what it wants, when it wants it, with little or no regard for the needs of another, or God’s Will being done in any given situation.
The more we crucify the flesh nature the more we can be filled with God who is love and His nature and be more pleasing to Him and do what is pleasing in his sight.
“So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:8
The Bible teaches us to walk in The Spirit/ Word, that we will not fulfill the desires of the flesh and if we abide in the vine which is Jesus the Word, we will be branches of that vine, full of good works and good fruit of His nature.
For The Bible teaches us that aside from Him we can do nothing, but can do all these good things through Him being in us and us abiding in him.
“This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” Galatians 5:16-17
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” John 15:4-5
The Bible declares the enemy comes but, for to steal, kill, and destroy but, Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly.
This does not just apply to finances but, he comes to steal, kill, and destroy in many other areas of life as well including our health and relationships and he uses many different methods to do so.
The enemy wants more than our money or health..he wants our eternal soul and can even use money to get it and many other things as well. All of which is designed to rob us of our heavenly home and eternal inheritance/our soul.
So then a person can be prosperous and even in good health and still lose his own soul. Ask the man in The Bible who was very prospers so much so that he built bigger and bigger barns rather than obeying God is those areas as well as the rich man and in association with the poor man Lazarus.(Luke 16:19-31)
It was the rich man who lost his soul and ended up in hell — not the poor one. Satan and his ultimate goal is to take our soul. In hell the rich man was in torment while the poor one was in abundance in heaven.
So then laying our treasures on earth is not always in our best interest either unless we are spiritually mature with it and are gonna obey God with it because we sure will not take any of that with us our eternal home and for sure how we steward this does determine if heaven ultimately will be our home.
God does want us to prosper in all areas but, EVEN AS our soul man does in becoming mature enough to obey God with it.
So that means even as our soul prospers as well. Vitally important!
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10
God gave us Jesus the living word of God. He gave us His word, and His Spirit, as well as the wisdom and other tools we need to over come any obstacle the enemy has placed in our lives that will block us from reaching our destiny and full potential in all areas of life not just one or two of them.
Now we all have areas of weakness in which needs to be addressed and overcome as no one I know of has reach perfection as of yet. So this writing is not to be judgmental of anyone, but rather keys to help all of us in the overcoming.
However, the first step in overcoming any thing is to realize we need the savior Jesus who is the living word of God and then put that word into action in our daily lives.
The Apostle Paul says the word, it is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes it, and those who apply it will walk in that power.
“Now therefore perform the doing of it; that as there was a readiness to will, so there may be a performance also out of that which ye have.” 2 Corinthians 8:11
So let us use the tools He has given us, as He has given us His Word, and His Spirit. Let us use the tools He has already placed in our hands and become all He designed us to be and obtain everything He desires us to have so that His will and purposes can be done.
His Word is all wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
God is faithful. Stand on His Word an apply it daily, and know He always causes us to triumph through and by Christ Jesus our Lord.
We are winners! We are more than conquerors we are overcomers!
“Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.” Romans 8:37
