Oaks of Righteousness
Amazingly Fall seems to have come quickly this year.
Even with all of the chaos we cannot stop the clock or for that matter turn back time. 2020 will surely go down as one of the most trying times in our country, but also in the lives of many individuals myself included.
Fiery trials come and go, but unfortunately this year has been a daunting test of perseverance.
Many have suffered great and mighty losses. The loss of dear loved ones, sickness, the loss of jobs, the loss of finances and the list goes on!
We never know what each year will bring. We certainly don’t know from day to day what we will face. Many times it is the unknown that the enemy uses to taunt us.
Let’s face it the enemy is pretty darn good in the taunting department especially if we choose to hold hands with doubt, worry and fear. The enemy also knows right where to hit us…he attacks those near and dear to our heart.
He can pull us down, in our minds pretty quickly, in a moment of weakness. When we are stressed over trials that we are walking through; the pressure can seem so intense that we take our eyes off of Jesus.
I will be the first to admit that I am not perfect, thankfully Jesus loves me anyway! I can lose focus and zero in on the problem and forget to keep my eyes on the problem solver…Jesus!
I am a fixer, always have been. I am a helper, always have been. It’s the fixing and the helping that can sometimes get me in trouble.
YES, it is good to want to help others; especially those you love. However, when you have analyzed and theorized the problem inside and out and your driving yourself bonkers… then you’ve most definitely moved from “Help Me Jesus” to “I’ll fix it myself.”
Well, let me tell you from experience “I’ll fix it myself” isn’t always in the cards.
Most certainly during fiery trials we need ”Help Me Jesus” all the more! The last time I personally checked I am most certainly missing a ‘super hero cape’ and my super powers seem to be defunct.
It is when we try under our own strength to fix something that clearly has no easy or earthly answer that we will truly wear ourselves out. Then boom; the enemy has the upper hand. We are literally mentally and physically wiped out.
Then we don’t even know what to pray or say anymore because we have been fighting from our flesh and not from the the throne of Heaven. You see I needed to be reminded of the strength I have IN JESUS.
Recently after a very trying day I went out side to our patio just to breathe in the fresh air and clear my head. I was sitting there casually talking to God and thinking about all the problems that have no easy answers.
As I sat there I looked up at a tree in our yard that had already started to turn pretty Fall colors and is losing it’s leaves. While I sat there I watched as leaves floated quietly to the ground right in front of me and this is what The LORD spoke to my heart.
“You are an Oak of Righteousness, the leaves (problems) may fall to the ground all around you, but the trunk (foundation) shall remain.
I AM your foundation and although the trials seem many and they seem to pile up just as the leaves, your foundation is deeply rooted within me! Focus on your Foundation, (Jesus) not on the problems.”
All of a sudden the peace of the falling leaves became the peace of The LORD over me. I surrendered and just said “Lord, I have no answers and you will answer in how you see fit, I give it all to you.”
My family has been looking at me strangely the last few days, because I have had laughter, lots of laughter and for no logical reason. A super natural, the Joy of The LORD, is my strength laughter! (Nehemiah 8:10).
You see we are ALL “Oaks of Righteousness” for our foundation is firmly rooted in Jesus as our Lord and Savior!
We must fight our battles from HIS foundation given to us as His children. There will always be battles, but let us stand at the ready firmly planted as a strong Oak in the power and authority of Jesus.
Fighting our battles saying “Help Me Jesus” and trusting Him in the process instead of fighting from our fleshly perspective.
Truly our battles are The LORD’s if we let Him take the lead, for Isaiah 61:3 ESV says,
“To grant to those who mourn in Zion — to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of The LORD, that he may be glorified.”
A prayer for you all:
Heavenly Father, I bring before you those that are reading this.
LORD, you know their trials and troubles first hand. I pray in The Name of Jesus that you remind them, that their foundation is rooted in you!
Let them stand tall in the spirit as a mighty Oak firmly planted in the power of The LORD Jesus.
Let them call upon you and believe and receive the help that they need in Jesus’ Name.
May you turn back the tide of the enemy, showing them just how precious they are to you as your son or daughter.
LORD, let them feel Your mighty Presence all around them that they will know you are fighting for them.
Let the Joy of The LORD be their strength, In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen!
Blessings and HIS abundant grace to you!
