Nobody Can Take Your Testimony!
“Now as the ark of the Lord came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart. In response David said to Michal, “It was before the Lord, who chose me instead of your father and all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the Lord, over Israel. Therefore I will play music before the lord and I will be even more undignified than this, and will be humble in my own sight“” 2 Samuel 6:16-13 emphasis added.
Sometimes people can and will become very critical of you because of how you choose to honor and lift up the LORD in all that you do.
Sometimes not knowing the relationship you have with God, they will willfully judge your actions, but understand, it was never about people, but about God!
They may criticize your behavior, not knowing where God has taken you from and what He has taken you through, but understand that is what makes you who you are and it is what qualifies you to become who you now are.
Nobody can take your testimony. Your testimony is part of your currency. It is your message of what God has graced you to overcome and personally taken you through.
They criticize, but they do not know the height of warfare the enemy sent to take you out.
They were never there the days when you had nothing left to your name. They were never there when stress and depression got so intense to the point you felt like you were about to lose your mind.
They were never there when nobody saw and recognized you. They were never there when sickness wanted to take you out.
Listen, make no apology for giving God the glory and the praise that is due onto His name!
Only you and the LORD know the intensity of what you have gone through and how much it almost wrecked you.
If shouting His Name is how you know to glorify Him, do it. If you have got to run around the church four times, do it!
If you cannot say a sentence without saying, “Thank you Jesus!” do it. If you have to take of your shoes to worship and praise, do it.
If your make-up gets all messy because you choose to worship Him, by all means do it.
If you have to lie on the floor to pray or worship Him by all means, do it. Who cares what people want to say? They were never there anyways.
It was just you and the LORD. He is the only one who kept and could have kept you, because what you went through was above the understanding of humanity.
If God never took you through the hell you went through, you would have never know Him unbridled. Had he not taken you through what He did, you would never break the restrictions and limitations they tried to place on your faith in God.
Rejoice, for now you know God the way you do and that you have busted down the walls and barriers that unfortunately has so many bound.
You may not follow “protocol” or submit to their religious ways of doing things but hey, you have been set free, you have been delivered from the usual and the same old same old.
You walk in the realm of the IMPOSSIBLE. Listen the only way David could have worshipped and praised God the way He did, is because He became set free from what he was used to!
The only reason he was able to worship to the magnitude he did in public, is because it was never unfamiliar to Him in private.
He found a place in God where He broke free through His submitted lifestyle of worship and praise.
David knew what it was like to be bound and be a “nobody”. David spent years as a shepherd boy tending sheaves. Nobody knew his name, nobody saw him, and nobody associated with him.
But guess what, he never saw himself the way others did. He was too busy becoming who God wanted him to become to get caught up into who others made him out to be.
David knew the importance of worshipping in secret so when God anointed him King and gave him the big platform it was nothing beneath him to lift up and glorify the LORD who exalted him in public.
In their eyes you may come across as a misfit, weird or even dishonorable but understand what people say about you has nothing to do with you.
Listen, you have no time to play victim or see yourself as less. What matters is how God sees you and in His eyes you are a winner. You have no time to complain. Keep your eyes on Jesus and continue to lift up His name.
Allow Him to prepare you and be all that He wants you to become in secret so when He takes you public, it will not be hard because you would have already mastered being who He has made you to be in private!
