No More Man-Made Monuments!
I’ve been up since 4:00 a.m. pondering on a dream I had. In my dream, I was with a dear servant of God from Benin in Edo state.
We were discussing something deep about the prophetic and apostolic ministries. Then I said to him; “Many people have not much understanding about the prophetic, they think it is about calling of names, phone numbers and so on.
But the prophetic is the migration of the mind of God into the mind of man so that man can begin to think like God.”
We then analysed the situation of the Body of Christ and saw how people miss God’s moves.
I further said, “Every move of God is for the building of God’s People, but sadly, many have monumentalized the prophetic and apostolic as a religious body and this is not meant to be!”
When Jesus was transfigured before His Disciples, they requested for something.
“And after six days Jesus taketh Peter, James, and John his brother, and bringeth them up into an high mountain apart, and was transfigured before them: and His Dace did shine as the sun, and His Raiment was white as the light. And behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elijah talking with him. Ten answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elijah,” Matthew 17:1-4.
They wanted to monumentalize the experience.
Same thing happened with the brazen serpent. Long after Moses passed on, generations after monumentalized the brazen serpent till a king destroyed it to turn the hearts of the people back to The LORD.
“And he did that which was right in the sight of The LORD, according to all that David his father did. He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brazen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan,” 2 Kings 18:3-4.
Similarly. We must not monumentalize our move in God (for God does not move literally) every move is in God and when we discover it, we are the ones actually moving in it.
Both the apostolic and prophetic move are supposed to point us to Jesus Christ and not Jesus Christ pointing us to the apostolic or the prophetic.
Both moves are all about Jesus, and we must understand this!
Many people go to service because they want to see and hear people’s names and phone numbers called out and if it didn’t happen that way, it is not God.
God cannot be pegged to any move — and that’s why he is God!
Elijah was familiar with the wind, earthquake and fire and when they happened he said to himself, “God must be in it,” but was disappointed when The LORD was not there.
I fear we are repeating the same mistake of our Forefathers.
Let’s focus on Jesus and He alone!
