Never Name-Drop in the Spirit World
Seven sons of a preacher messed with the spirit world, thinking they could chase demons by name dropping Paul’s name and My name and were almost killed. “These foolish vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon themselves to call over people which had evil spirits using My name, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preaches. [14] And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. [15] And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you guys? [16] And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded” Acts 19:13-16.
Many western Christians do the same thing every day. As a rule the results are not as drastic, but they are being just as foolish. Thinking they can pray for anything their flesh desires and by dropping My name I will give it to them, is so wrong! Dropping My name in the kingdom gets you nowhere, if you don’t know the King personally.
Many will say to Me in that day, Lord, Lord, we dropped your name everywhere! did we not prophesy using your name? And we used your name to cast out devils? And we used your name to do many wonderful works?” [23] And then I will say to them, you may have name dropped, but you never took the time to know Me, and I never really knew you: depart from Me, you phony worker of iniquity,” Matthew 7:22-23.
Multitudes are well versed in christianeze talk, and sound like My representatives, but their heart is far from Me, Matthew 15:7-9 The problem starts long before they start to name drop. It goes back to when they first start hearing My word, “because when the word was preached it did not profit them, because it was not being mixed with faith in them while they heard it, so they just started going through the motions, using My name,” Hebrews 4:2.
Just to be sure your not just a name dropper, look behind you and see what’s following you, Mark 16:17-18.
