Neglect Not The Gift
You’ll try to get away; but you can’t. Some gifts are given or imparted to a person, through prophecy. I remember a time, when we went around, laying hands on one another and prophesying to one another. The leadership, or in this case, the presbytery, did this also; imparting gifts to those the Spirit led them to. The Spirit himself, bore witness. It was not a rare thing; it was a common thing. It was deeper spiritual activity.
We are not talking here, about a lot of this fanfare kind of thing we’ve seen on television most of the time. It’s not about many of these man-made houses of promotion and artificial interactions. After much duress, I heard a voice speak to me yesterday, through the words of Mordecai to Esther. She was told, that she was going to have to save herself, and her people; she could not escape doing so. Brought to the kingdom, for the very mission before her.
The Apostle wrote to Timothy, that he should follow the things he had been teaching him, in order to “Save thyself, and them that hear thee,” 1 Timothy 4:16. Since we are in the full swing of days where there are many false prophets, the Spirit is opening up things in the Word. The truth is, they were there, all the time. We can attest, that there are many things foretold in the Old Testament, that were not going to come to pass, until now. God hid things from us; even in His Word, until it was time to reveal it. And it is being revealed now.
How some could persuade so many of us not to seek out and search for things ourselves, I don’t fully understand. For example, he told Timothy, to “make full proof of thy ministry,” 2 Timothy 4:5. I have a true feeling, that many of us likely have no idea, of what that actually means. Where was this proof; how did you see it, or know it. And to whom were you showing proof to. After all these years, we have finally been allowed to voice our conviction, that there are many, who were not called. Jesus Christ did approve them; He said he did not send them. The Spirit also spoke it, in the Old Testament.
Not everyone in the Body, has the same kind of gifts. God chose and appointed, certain men and women to speak to the Church. It is not, and never was decided by men. In spite of all the hoopla, that is manifested among those who were not appointed, or those who are not even anointed, God’s people are starving. Any of us can hear from God for ourselves; we know that. But some may not have ever truly realized, that God had His own divine purpose, for the way He set things up in the New Testament Church. Instead of accepting that and embracing it as we did in the beginning, and, as they did in the early Church, we’ve let others, avoid His plan.
Did it ever occur to us, that God’s people, and even people who are in the world, need the Gifts we have? We believed so when we were first given this impartation by the Spirit; everyone who was full of the Holy Ghost, could discern it. If the Spirit did not bring us forth until now, it was for a very good reason.
Many of us had a period of time, when we exercised these gifts; learning how they work. Through much suppression, walking down paths we never thought we would go down, and sometimes being lost and totally overwhelmed, the Gifts remained. Those things, are needed more today, than ever before. Saving ourselves, and those who hear us.
