Needless Weights
As you have come after Me with a vengeance and sought Me with your whole heart, I have smiled upon this. There are many things I have yet to teach you. This is a process, it is a process of learning and growing and maturing.
All that you learn and all that I have shown you, all that has been hidden in your heart will become wisdom and truth for, not only you, but also for others. You will minister from what I have taught you. You need not weary yourself with obeying others but seek Me in all things, obeying My word and pray for one another.
Leave what is not for you to carry at the foot of the cross where everything that is NOT eternal will be left. Seek those things that are from above and leave the wood, hay and stubble behind. Come and follow Me. Let us walk in unity and in agreement. Lay aside every weight and sin which so easily besets you.
Comment
In my own walk with the Lord, I have found that many times I have carried extra baggage. I have also taken on unnecessary responsibilities that were not mine to carry, nor to do. But because I am a responsible person I did, and these responsibilities became heavy weights in my life.
This causes needless weights upon our hearts, minds and souls, and stifles our joy, and causes us discouragement. It brings heaviness and a burden that the Lord does not want us to carry.
We must follow Gods leading and not take upon ourselves more than we can to bear. The only thing God asks us to take up daily is “His cross”. We must lay down old baggage (the past), and not pick it up again and again, as it becomes far too heavy for us to bear.
Many times we have chosen to carry burdens that are not ours to carry, and we need the Lords help in recognizing this. Sin will weigh us down, yet there are many other, seemingly good things, that can weigh us down also.
Memory Verse
“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,” Hebrews 12:1.
