Mount Sinai
“Be ready in the morning. Then come up on Mount Sinai, and stand in my presence on the top of the mountain.” Exodus 34:2
Amazing stories took place at Mount Sinai. God spoke to both Moses and Elijah here. He called them to a purpose and gave them important commandments as God chose to appear to them.
In the Old Testament, God had to call out to his people and let them know he was there. T oday, with the living sacrifice of Jesus, we can approach God on our own personal mountaintop, but also in our valleys and deserts.
We’ve all experienced difficult seasons at one time or another and have hoped for that instantaneous miracle to appear.
We don’t have to go through these seasons in silent waiting. We can make our hearts and minds available to hear from God. His wind of His Spirit comes to settle and protect us.
“As many as touched [Him] were made perfectly whole,” Matthew 14:36.
Vision
And then a picture begins to form in my mind as I am listening with my heart.
There is an empty row boat at sea. Just as the boat comes into full view, the wind picks up and the waves of the sea push the boat out to sea.
At first this little boat over throws the coming waves finding safety, until high speed winds begin buffeting it.
The winds act upon the rippled sea surface causing the waves to become twice and three times their initial size and the pressure causes a pattern that is difficult for the little boat to stay afloat.
I expect the little boat to capsize at any moment, but that’s when I noticed a pattern in the winds had became its defense.
We are hardwired to search for a deeper and richer meaning in a world that sometimes seems to overflow with dread and coldness.
Over and over you can hear the cry of our hearts through the psalmist, King David, as he says:
“How long, O Lord?”
“When will you answer my cry?”
“Why must I wait so long for your promise to be fulfilled?”
There isn’t a single one of who can’t identify with David’s words because there are issues of all sorts on the journey with Christ. In spite of what others may have said, the journey isn’t perfect and has many turns, filled will challenge and trials that do not exclude endless bliss, a perfect marriage, perfect relationships, or even a perfect financial portfolio.
We all face times of unexpected difficulties, and seemingly unsolvable problems that become our pointer towards deeper waters.
These waters demand the presence of our living God in order to navigate our troubles and even sorrows of our this world.
And even though life is sweet for the lovers of God, perfection can only be found in Christ. Each of us must continue to seek the haunting signposts in our life to hear from Yahweh.
He is quick to come and there is always some encouragement to be found in our unexpected trials & difficulties.
Are your looking for Him? Do you expect to hear from Him?
There are many points on the map of this journey with Christ, but when we allow God to speak to us, our twists and turns can be thrilling instead of agonizing!
“At that time I was standing between The LORD and you to declare to you the word of The LORD, because you were afraid of the fire and would not go up the mountain,” Deuteronomy 5:5.
I believe The LORD is leading each of you in a Whisper.
This Whisper is for you, the one reading this. Let the following speak to you personally in a deep way.
Listen with your heart for the voice of The LORD speaking directly to you, not just with your ears, but wait to listen with your heart.
Pause yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to Come as you begin to read each word.
This type of listening will take us beyond the natural realm to pierce the second veil causing an understanding of things that we would not ordinarily be able to know.
Then, out of that understanding, we will be able to respond in a way that will cause love to escalate within our souls. The love that only Jesus provides.
The LORD wants us to listen with our heart because this is how He listens.
It takes practice to be able to listen with your heart. The more you practice, the better you will be able to discern quickly what He is saying at any given moment or situation.
The Whisper from Yah
Yah is short for Yahweh and it means “The God of Power”
“Though an raging sea overtakes you, I will lift you high.
Though fires burn around you, I will be Your shelter.
Though many voices may speak to accuse, I will be Your peace.
Take rest in your Father’s Works that began years ago.
Take joy in your Father’s Love for its pure delight.
Today make a decision to let your eyes be opened to see My Salvation in your life.
Declare over yourself, the day of the Redeemer has come and His grace shall be unveiled before my very eyes.
You shall arise today to be redeemed and restored fully back to Me, your Father in Heaven.
From today forward My Presence will be upon your life in unmistakable ways. You will no longer question My Voice.
My Voice will lead your steps and protect you from all that may come against you.
Though a raging sea threatens you, I will lift you high, to ride the coming waves and you will see My Glory.”
